We walked into Lumberjaxes for our second date night, armed with excitement and ready for a bullseye of fun—only to be completely blindsided by the real axe throw of the evening: the bartender’s attitude.
After checking in, we made a beeline for the bar to grab some much-needed drinks and food. But apparently, acknowledging customers wasn’t on the menu. The bartender was too busy playing bartender to a fellow employee, and when another couple rolled up, they got a cheerful “I’ll be right with you!” Us? A curt “What can I get you?” To which I responded, “I’d like to order some food & drinks, please” and condescendingly another “yeah! WHAT CAN I GET YOU?” delivered with all the charm of a soggy flatbread.
Speaking of flatbread, when I asked for the food they’d been promoting on social media, I was met with a "we don’t have that.” So, I settled for a flatbread pizza, hoping to spice it up with some jalapeños. Easy, right? Wrong. Turns out, there’s no magical “jalapeño button.” Seriously? No button, no spice, no hope.
Not sure if she was just having a bad day or hates happiness, but the bartender’s bad vibes shot our date night straight into the gutter. Instead of enjoying what we thought would be our new go-to spot, we were left with a sour taste—and unfortunately, it wasn’t from food or drinks. We left, disappointed and jalapeño-less, and feeling like the only thing that landed a hit that night was our dashed expectations.
Lumberjaxes, we wanted you to be our go-to date night spot. Instead, you turned our night into a tale of customer service gone wrong. Here’s hoping the next axe thrown is sharper than the service. Friday, Sept 27th at about 6:15...
Read moreLumberJaxes, with its clever and catchy name, is an axe throwing establishment that attracts enthusiasts and newcomers alike. As a group of friends with varying levels of experience, we were excited to give this place a try. Unfortunately, our visit didn't quite live up to the standards set by competing venues.
On the positive side, our visit occurred on a weeknight, which meant the place was not too crowded, giving us ample space to enjoy our axe throwing experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which added a pleasant touch to our evening. Moreover, they graciously allowed us to play a bit longer than we had paid for, which we greatly appreciated.
However, there were some aspects of LumberJaxes that left us feeling a bit underwhelmed. The axes provided were not in great condition, with worn and rather dull blades, and handles that were taped and falling apart. This was disappointing, especially considering that other establishments we've visited offered a variety of axe types and sizes in much better condition.
As for the food options, LumberJaxes primarily offers pizza, which didn't cater to everyone in our group. Nonetheless, the location is conveniently situated near several other eateries, so finding alternative dining options was not a challenge.
In conclusion, our experience at LumberJaxes was a mixed bag. While the friendly staff and uncrowded atmosphere were definite positives, the condition of the axes and limited food selection left room for improvement. For those seeking an axe throwing experience, it's worth considering other establishments that may provide better equipment and a more...
Read moreWe came here as a date night. My husband and I love axe throwing we’ve gone around to a few different places. We were given lane 5. As soon as we got there we noticed how torn the wood was and how dull the axes were. I asked for new ones they said that’s the only type they had but yet the ppl next lane were given completely different style axes. It started off as more of a frustrating situation. We wanted a refund within the first 5 minutes. luckily the tall lady with short hair from check in had one of the girls add more water to our wood since it wasn’t fully soaked. The First Lady who took us to our lane handed us a clip board expecting us to understand any of it. Didn’t explain anything just handed up the clip & walked away. The bartender seemed to be completely out of it. I ordered a mixed drink and was handed a random shot. It was only me there. Husband & I tried to make the best out of it. They didn’t remove the completely torn wood till literally after our turn. Do better. We work hard for our money to pay for a bad experience. We are also extremely busy we were extremely excited but wasn’t worth it. The front desk lady was...
