This place is beautiful! The music is versatile, the building is super clean. The scenery alone and the arcade to top it off made it very memorable for me and friends on our girls night out. I ordered the halloumi burger and my friends ordered the classic burger with an order of fried cheese curds. However, when I changed my side order (I ordered a burger and fries) so I can try their poutine fries, the cashier rolled his eyes at me and walked away before I could finish talking. Once the food arrived it tasted delicious, after a while my friend and I could taste freezer burn from the bun. We tried cheese curds my other friend ordered with her meal and those taste great, although after eating a couple more bites it started to taste funny and made our stomachs turn. We figured after eating all this interesting food we would try to wash it down with a coke soda. If you want to order a drink you have to order from the bar since it’s separate from where you order your food. The chef in the kitchen said that the water from the kitchen was better than the one from the bar, which concerned me so we only ordered water from the kitchen and ordered a coke from the bar. They only have Mexican soda which sounded good since we’d never had it before. Yet, the coke soda was so bad I couldn’t finish it. I’d spent 9.99 on a coke soda that tastes of strong toilet water and a watered down Diet Pepsi. My friends and I are not from here so we thought from the 4.5 reviews it would be an awesome place to grab a bite before we watched the sunset on the beach. Nonetheless, my friends and I were disappointed in gnarly varly’s food unfortunately. If you go for games and the live music performance it will be a great...
Read moreWe ordered standard chicken tenders, but their chicken tenders are made with chicken thighs and it took me a couple bites to realize why they were not very good! It wasn't clearly marked on the menu. But after reviewing the other menu choices, we realized that they only served chicken thighs on sandwiches, etc... We had heard the chorizo hot dog was recommended. But it wasn't very good either, and only had a slice of American cheese on top, which was disappointing. Their prices are very fair, but you pay & tip before you ever receive your food and you don't get checked on again. **Matt Varley - thanks so much for responding. I appreciate the follow up and don't need a refund. We don't live in the area, just visiting for the weekend. But because you were so quick to respond & offer the money back, if we're ever in town again I will definitely...
Read moreWe will definitely be going back!! The restaurant is inside Grand Armory Brewing. Orders can be placed by QR code at table or at a window after you’ve chosen a seat. Servers come around periodically to be sure you have everything you need. There was live music-artist played acoustic guitar and sang- also interacting with patrons. Arcade upstairs. Great atmosphere and inviting space. The food here is AMAZING! Ordered the veggie burger- the falafel added to the black bean was ingenious and most certainly mouthgasmic. Fries are an up charge, but worth it. This place is top 10, can’t wait...
