Very disappointed! I brought a group with me (along with my husband who is usually very easy to satisfy with food) and we drove over an hour to get there. We thought we had reservations, only to get there and was told they do NOT do reservations. We were wrong and Google does it and the restaurant has no control over it. I checked FRENCH TOAST HEAVEN’s website and in THEIR menu bar it has a spot to make reservations. The picture below shows French Toast Heaven at the top. Anyway, on a packed day we waited. We noticed many people were sitting without food. That was a red flag, but we ignored it. The wait was not very long to get a table because she said she would accommodate us never for the “mix up”. 20/25 maybe, we sat down. Still noticed a lot of people around us sitting with no food. It was hot in the restaurant and my friends being to sweat, the waitress had a small fan behind us and turned it on. Not sure if they have air or not. Beside the point, we ordered drinks… it took at least 15 minutes to bring back drinks! I NEVER received my coffee, but I told the girl to leave it. So much happened but I’ll get to the BIG problems. After sitting at the table for a terribly long time, we finally was able to order. We waited almost an hour now for the food.. on top of the already waited time previously. When the food came out, I was missing a whole Maurice breakfast. I ordered a French toast, mediocre and fish too ( was going to do a content review of the food). The fish was ok but not meaty enough to be flaky and good like the pictures but had a good flavor from the batter. My husband & another gentleman’s food was mixed up by the waitress. We told her it was WRONG, multiple times she said they had the correct meals, so one person started eating the food only to find out the food was the wrong dishes. They asked them to switch plates and the person only ate the eggs off the plate, so fresh eggs came. Plates were mediocre at best. The sausage (I forgot the special name for it) was “big” but pressed down so flat it was almost paper thin. Wasn’t worth the price. My friends ordered chicken wings and from the pictures and people with chicken orders they were WHOLE wings. Got to our table and it was small party wings. If they ran out FINE, but the customers should have been told ahead of time and they would NOT have ordered them. Lastly my friend is a baker, the peaches on her French toast needed more love and flavor. Not sure if they were rushing but it was almost out the can taste with a little sugar added. It was almost closing time at this point so I think they were trying to get the food out fast. One person at our table was somewhat satisfied with their food. The catfish and grits. I can say the waitress was nice. She was trying her best. I read the owners Instagram post telling people to be patient with their service and if you don’t have time to wait, then this may not be the place for them because they are cooking things from scratch. And if you are in hurry, this restaurant is not design like that or something to the nature.. that’s a JOKE! Do you know how many other restaurants cook from scratch and it doesn’t take hours to wait and receive their food. That’s a disclaimer for we are not as organized as we should be and it takes us long to get food out. The food we received was not from scratch or homemade anything. It should NOT have taken well over and hour to get anything we ordered. So you’re telling me you make your own water and tea so that’s why it took 15 minutes for that too?! Ok. And I read the comments from the owner asking people to email him privately because commenting publicly does not help…. FYI and news flash.. I emailed this chef probably over a MONTH AGO, and waited patiently for a response and received nothing!! Even though I said it’s probably nothing they can do to resolve this because I live way to far to ever come back. I’ll NEVER GO BACK. I’ll NEVER recommend them especially now since I did everything they ask me to do. I just want restaurants to do better. Don’t make excuses for LACK OF!

Let me be fair... this rating is purely for customer service and overall service. I have been to this restaurant several times and have enjoyed the food. I fully understand that their service style is laid back and not rushed. I know you personally cannot be in a rush if you wish to dine her, I'm fine with that... but my visit on 9/22 was not okay. I arrived at the restaurant around 1:20 and was told it would be a 40-45 minute wait. I was okay with the wait and put my name down. I watched parties come and be sat but I still patiently waited for with my party of 3. We were sat around 2:15pm and it took the server almost 10 - 15 minutes to greet us. Again we are still in good spirits at this point. Since we had the wait time, we had already reviewed the menu and promptly asked to order. The server said great and took our order. Now there was a table right next to us that was seated a couple of minutes before us that was also putting in their order at the same time. Back to our table, 2 of us ordered catfish. The table next to us also ordered 2 orders of catfish. One person in my party also stated they wanted to place a Togo order and the server said we would wait a little to put that in. As we waited for our food, the server checked on us a couple of times. We talked about the restaurant closing at 3pm, and realized it was now 3:17pm and she hadn't taken the Togo order. So when she finally came back, we placed 2 togo orders one for me and one for another person in my party. When the server came to take the order she told us what could no longer be ordered and that was catfish and yams. That was fine as we had already placed our catfish order. About 15 more minutes go by and the table next to us gets their food. Now we are still patiently waiting ans around 3:38pm the server comes to tell us they are out of catfish and asks if we want to order something else. Now at this point it's been well over an hour that we've been sitting and waiting on our food. Obviously upset, but still understanding, the manager comes over to apologize and says he will cook whatever we wanted and the meal was on him. He says there were young cooks and they weren't doing the best at communicating and they were unaware that they were out (mind you the table next to us received their order with no issues). The management offered to make us salmon like the catfish, we reluctantly accepted one order of the fried salmon. The food came out about 15 minutes later in several rounds. The salmon was okay, but still didn't satisfy the taste of catfish we were both looking for, nevertheless we pressed on. We ate some of the food, at this point we are ready to go and asked for our togo orders. The manager told us since he spent so much time at our table he hadn't had time to get the togo orders together and now that he knew that they were ours, he would get right on it. By this time, I'm standing up because I'm just ready to go. I turn to watch them walk to the kitchen and both togo orders were sitting on the counter. Now mind you, at this time the restaurant was closed and the only people there were the lingering customers and what appeared to be friends of the staff. I bring this up because we had to keep locating our server who was talking to friends. Fast forward to the server now rushing to get our togo order, now one person in our party received their full order and the bill but tells me that the Mac and cheese I ordered was not available but they took it off the bill but if I wanted the chicken I could pay for that. I asked the manager why wouldn't they let me know they were out of Mac and cheese. He said, listen we were busy, we took the Mac and cheese off the bill. He says that I'm taking his kindness for granted. He apologized, he doesn't know what else to say. I had to leave before I exploded. They audacity of you to be in the wrong and not effectively communicate not offer to really fix the problem. Having someone sit for hours to eventually not provide them service is insane. I would not recommend simply...

French Toast Heaven in West Chester, Ohio is truly a lovely location for brunch. I visited this charming spot on a Saturday around noon my wait for a table for two was pleasantly short. The tables, although a bit small, served their purpose adequately.

The only downside to the experience was the wait time for the food. However, my friend and I made the most of it by engaging in a lively game of Uno, managing to squeeze in about twelve rounds before our order arrived.

For my meal, I opted for the French toast and chicken breakfast with a special upgrade to the cinnamon crunch French toast. To the dish I added, cheese eggs, and potatoes and onions. While the concept was promising, there were a few hiccups. The cheese eggs were disappointingly runny, indicating they may not have been cooked thoroughly. Served in a small bowl, they lacked the desired texture.

The potatoes, too, left much to be desired as they were only lightly cooked. Although edible, they fell short of my expectations. On the bright side, the chicken wings were a pleasant surprise, well-prepared and flavorful.

French Toast Heaven offers a cozy setting and a menu with potential, but improvements in food quality and timeliness are necessary to elevate the overall dining experience.

In addition to my dining experience at French Toast Heaven, I must highlight my friend's positive feedback on their meal. They ordered the breakfast bowl and the old school French toast, both of which they thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast bowl was satisfying, and the old school French toast hit the mark with its classic flavors.

Our waitress, Jen, deserves special recognition for her exceptional service. Not only was she attentive and friendly throughout our meal, but she also went above and beyond to assist me in a slightly embarrassing situation. When I mistakenly thought someone was in the restroom and hesitated to enter, Jen took the initiative to double-check and reassure me that it was unoccupied. Her quick thinking and kindness alleviated my unnecessary worry, and her professionalism was truly commendable.

One aspect that could enhance the dining experience at French Toast Heaven is the addition of a liquor license. A refreshing mimosa would have been the perfect accompaniment to my meal, and I believe it would elevate the overall experience for guests. Additionally, addressing the temperature inside the restaurant would be beneficial, as it was notably warm during my visit. Once these improvements are implemented, I have no doubt that French Toast Heaven will excel even further.

Despite minor inconveniences, I would gladly return to French Toast Heaven for another meal. The potential for a great dining experience is evident, and with the right adjustments, this spot has the makings of a delightful brunch...
