I absolutely love K&W cafeteria no matter what town it's in. My favorite location is the one on South Holden Road in Greensboro North Carolina. We have been eating at that restaurant since my boys were in the highchair and now they're 20 and 21 years old. Some of the same staff is there from when my husband and I used to come in pushing our boys in their little rolling high chairs through the line to get our food trays. I love the big selection of entrees and vegetables and I love their coffee. They even give you a free coffee with your meal. Even though I usually get an unsweetened tea, I always get a free large coffee to go. I like the fact that the staff is so friendly. They feel almost like family. If we have something on our tray, the cashier will say, He they are running this on special today. You can get a dessert or you can get an extra bread or something. The k&w on friendly is much better in the quality of food that they serve.
The jello tasted like it was made with tap water.
The chicken tasted old The baked spaghetti was delicious. The corn bread was dry and old. The fried apples were good but still a bit watered down. The strawberry shortcake was not fluffy and was dull to taste not sweet. Im.not sure if it was old too or what.
The other k and w strawberry shortcake at friendly is to die for. As much money that this place charges and the amt of watered down food they are doing is sad.
From my phiances and my check I had them remove 20$ worth of food that we couldn't eat.
Our bellies got sick after eating there. I noticed that most of their clientele was older folk. This location on HOLDEN RD is VERY STINGY with PORTION SIZES. FRIENDLY CNTR IS MUCH BETTER. With the meet I ordered, I received a 10-yr old PORTION SIZE. I ASKED FOR A LITTLE MORE AS A MIDDLE AGE ADULT. The top mgr were on the line but were arrogant and refused to offer more.
Over years, prices have almost doubled by 100% on most items, while Portion Sizes remain small. Food was okay the past few visits but PORTION SIZES WERE SO SMALL THAT I COULD HAVE EATEN 3X MORE. CUSTOMER SERVICE, VALUE, and TOP MGT. ARE HORRIBLE. I skipped coming here for 9 years or so. Coming back did no good 10 years later.
My visits at K&W have decreased by 95% due to excessively high prices vs portion sizes. K&W at FRIENDLY CENTER IS BETTER but PRICES ARE STILL TOO HIGH, esp. on vegetables for $1.79 for tiny bowl!!...
