Seafood Destiny… I’ve supported the food truck for years whenever they’re in my hometown of Winston Salem. But on February 22, 2025, me and my wife decided to go to the restaurant this time around.
We came from Winston to support but were deeply saddened and disappointed by the experience. It was around 7:10pm when we placed a to go order for pickup via telephone. We arrived around 7:40, I went in to pay and after I completed my transaction the cashier told me to have a nice night as she was leaving due to the end of her shift occurring. Granted they closed at 8:00pm but she had no issue completing my order. However there was an older lady that took her spot of transactions for customers that had a rude attitude as another paying customer came in after me wanting to place an order. She exclaimed “Here we go, we always get a rush right before closing. This makes me sick, where were they a few minutes ago!?”
I was appalled that she would 1) say this openly in front of customers and 2) behave in this manner during operating hours. I understand it’s close to closing but after all you still are open so conduct yourself professionally. Anyways, as my order was ready about 10minutes after, she changed her persona and smiled telling me my order was ready just after displaying the rude attitude towards the customer after me. I payed it no mind, took my food and returned home. Only to find the 2 for $40 crab broil was soggy and no where close to the meals that I have grown so fond of receiving from them. My platter had 2 clusters of what seemed to be “baby crab legs” because they were so small and skinny. My wife on the other hand had a small cluster and another decent size cluster but again, they were soggy, cold and as we tried breaking them, they would just bend inside the shell making it nearly impossible to get any meat out of them. She did not want to finish hers but I do not like wasting food nor money so I took one for the team and finished mines.
We’ve been trying to get a hold of the manager for weeks now so I wouldn’t have to leave a negative review and could be compensated but after leaving voicemails, posting on their facebook page, and even calling over and over again with no one coming to the phone, I have no other choice. It’s just left a sour taste in my mouth with them and their unprofessional behavior. So if you’re seeing this, learn from me and don’t go near closing hours or you might just end up with the same “destiny” as I’ve been handed by them.
The order was 2 crab leg broils for $40 and a side order of 2 crab cakes (which were fine, no issues there). In total I spent $71 just to be disregarded and disappointed. I honestly don’t know if I’ll return after supporting them...
Read moreWe came up from Charlotte,NC after seeing a popular TikTok video. We got the 2 for 50 special and 2 teas as well as the salmon pasta. It was a slow day no customers in the establishment.
The cashier was absolutely helpful and pleasant, she actually upsold us into purchasing the pasta as well. The food came out in less that 8 minutes of ordering which I found peculiar for a seafood restaurant. Good food takes time.
When the food arrived presentation was absolutely perfect. It looked fabulous!
However this is where my experience takes a drastic turn.
The seafood boil was cold and the turkey sausage was not cooked. My husband asked for it to be heated up again and it still was not to temp. The potatoes were undercooked. The crablegs had no flavor not even the flavor of seafood. Just bland thawed out crab legs. The shrimp was okay but everything else was not to temp and flavorless.
The pasta was nasty and lacked flavor and seasoning. The sauce was just thrown on top of the salmon with parsley. The flavors didn’t pair well.
I told the cashier the cook did a very subpar job and she didn’t take my criticism at all. However she was pleasant and gave me foil to take my food home. She explained that some say it’s too much seasoning but I digress. Her sales skills are impeccable. Too bad the product doesn’t match the effort. They were also out of tops.
I left hungry and very disappointed. I would not recommend to any seafood lovers it was so nasty. However my husband encouraged taking it to go, he saved it at home by cooking to temp and lightly seasoning.
Honestly they could do well with a take and bake/boil option. The seafood is definitely not fresh Carolina quality.
Overall I had high hopes for this spot. It’s been on my list for over a year of places to visit. Waste of time and gas. I hope they reevaluate the kitchen staff and preparation standards. I prioritized this spot over a festival with several food trucks on my list. Regrettable experience.

So then I get there and she has charged me the regular price because she said I didn’t say the Lunch Special! Now google friends I know yall smart and just read in the sentence before she asked me which lunch special! 😳 Anyway she says well it’s too late bc it’s made and I’ll hv to charge u full price! I argued this stupid point so then she says smartly well we will hv to take some food off your plate? Are u freaking kidding me? I said no just refund me. Leave my daughter to do handle the refund with her. Harmony then display like she refunding and doesn’t give my daughter proof/receipt of refund so I send my daughter back in for the receipt. Daughter goes in and Then Harmony grudgingly asked for my card again… rewind! If u did the refund then why u need my Card again? That’s because she probably didn’t refund until I asked for proof!!! I asked for her name she said “I ain’t giving you my name” but then I looked on the receipt it’s “Harmony”! Duh now I don’t even live in NC and would never come to Seafood Destiny again because their service is super unprofessional and tried to play and keep my money!! And it makes me wonder So what type of attitude is food cooked with? Do the crabs fall on the floor, u hide it and you still pack them? Ijs!
