It was first time there and it appeared very appealing to dine in open spacious and the happening place to go...... upon entering there's a wait to even be seated but surprisingly you have to give your name and cellphone number..... then they text you when your turn is to be seated... waited about 25 minutes got the text and mind you we were just two feet away from the counter where the two employees handled seating and the text gives you a link to go to online and it tells you where you are in that line which I liked because it updated very quickly and went to the counter and wasn't two seconds after receiving the text and the girl that did the seating knew we were next and she quickly spoke to the customers that came in after us and went to seat them ...... we instantly mentioned we were next but to avail got rudely brushed off implying to us we just had to wait all over again... I turned to the guy at the counter and stated we were next and wanted to know why they are seating ones significantly after us..... next the menu is very expensive then the waiter forgot about things we would like..... then the check came.... well you give them to waiter to pay and they run it like a credit card and bring you a copy to sign but it lists percentages as ofof a recommendation for tips starting at 18% and up and the receipt you sign has blank lines to choose one those percentage because the meal was about 60 bucks with the tip made it 75 bucks..... I should be the one to decide what I tip not the restaurants so I had to pay the 18% which get turned in after you leave which leaves it open for someone to possibly be able to change it...plus there's not telling if that individual will actually get the whole tip.... or it historical be shared with the restaurant or anyone else that didn't earn it ..... if they want the restaurant could totally cheat servers havingthethe tip system completely integrated with payment for the meal... the food tasted delicious though but not enough to want to come back soon.....[new edit] the owner i suppose.... replies to me through my email it's not visible here... but wants me to personally email him... I have no reason to want to personally email anything........ for that my...
Read moreTwo stars for the best margaritas I’ve ever had and good service, but after tonight we likely won’t be back. I ordered 3 tacos. One came out saturated in oil and water. It was the Don Mignon taco. Unfortunately it saturated everything on my plate. I called the waiter over and showed him and he said it was unacceptable and they would remake it and not charge me for that taco. By the time it came out again, my husband had finished his 3 tacos. The waiter told me it took so long because the first time they remade it, it came out the exact same way so he had to have them remake it again. We finish eating and get the bill and we were charged for the taco. In addition, they would not let us use all our coupons even though they had no terms and conditions or expiration dates. The coupon just said “free taco,” no more and no less. The manager couldn’t even be bothered enough to come out and talk to us, so the AGM said we could use some of them but not all. She tried explaining that the new coupons DO say you can only use one, but that should have been irrelevant for these since they did NOT say that. I do understand that rule and why that would be printed on a coupon but since it wasn’t printed, it shouldn’t have been an issue and should have been chalked up to their mistake for not listing it on the coupon. Every time we come to Tipsy Taco there’s some sort of issue either with the food or the service so tonight was the final straw, at least for the foreseeable future. Having owned a food service establishment for over 5 years, I am very sympathetic to folks in the restaurant industry and do not believe the customer is always right, but this should have been a non-issue, especially considering that the AGM already knew we had to send food back.
I would also like to add that our initial waiter was good but he left before our meal was finished and said someone else would be checking on us, but that never happened until we flagged someone...
Read moreMy partner and I walked in and waited for about 7 minutes at the front waiting for the host to come in and seat us. As we sat and waited in the seating allotted for doing so, about 4 more groups of people walked in behind us and were standing, waiting to be seated as well. When the host finally arrived, she made no eye contact and did not attempt to talk to anyone. She simply started grabbing people (behind us that arrived after) and seating them without speaking. We had to assert that we were in line because she was outright ignoring us. We made it clear that she was seating people before us (which is no big deal in the grand scheme because Tipsy Taco is GIANT with more than enough seating), she rudely ignored us and grabbed the menus to walk us over and seat us. Before, during, and after seating us, she did not speak to us or make us feel even slightly welcome. My partner and I were so surprised by this treatment and blatant incompetence, we simply left.
The food smelled GLORIOUS from what we could tell. But unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try out the entire rest of the experience.
This was an early evening shift and TT was not busy. But it's very clear that you were also very understaffed. The staff that you do have is inconsistent. I could clearly see other workers running around and doing everything they could for customers. But it's a very poor idea to have a mentally inattentive host who will let her bad days destroy any positive first impressions for new customers walking in the door. I understand we are human and are going to have bad days sometimes. But do you want that to be the norm of how your host shows up to work to seat people? I have NEVER walked out of a restaurant like that before, but the rudeness she exuded alone was too much to bear -- because after that, we knew your establishment didn't...
