Pokemoto Derby — Restaurant in Gypsum Township

I’ve been to a lot of poke places, but Pokemoto stands out as the best I’ve tried so far. They offer more selections than any other poke spot I’ve visited—tons of protein options, mix-ins, toppings, and sauces that let you customize your bowl exactly how you like it. Whether you’re a first-timer or a poke pro, you’ll appreciate the variety.

What really impressed me was the portion size. You get a generous amount of food and protein for the price, which makes it a great value. You definitely won’t leave hungry!

Be sure to try the Aloha sauce—it’s a game-changer. Just the right balance of sweet and savory, and it pulls everything together perfectly. The staff will also allow you to sample sauces or other ingredients before choosing, which was a nice touch.

Speaking of staff, the customer service is top notch. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, happy to explain the ingredients and offer suggestions. It didn’t feel rushed at all, and you could tell they genuinely care about your experience.

You guys, I’m freaking out. I’ve never had a poké bowl this amazing. I’m writing this as I shovel the late bites into my mouth, wondering if Derby understands what a gem they have in having a restaurant as fun, delicious and unique as this. I walked in with five minutes to spare until closing, worried it was too late for an order. Not only was I welcomed in but Scott (owner) gave me the first-timer experience he would give anyone no matter what time they walked in. I made my selections with their guidance. I sampled some of their signature sauces and immediately knew this meal would be one I would not soon forget. My extended ohana (family) live in Hawaii. Having Hawaiian food again, brings back happy memories of my childhood. Love, love, love Spam Musubi -- and the staff was able to make my request for four (4) of them! They were delicious and perfect for my Dallas Road Trip! Attached are photos from my dinner experience.
