This was a terrible experience for us, in all honesty. We came in for a quick meal and ended up staying for almost 3 hours because of service! Three tables that were seated after us were served and out the door before we even got our meals. We sat down and ordered drinks, one of which was chocolate milk for our daughter....and they were out of it. Then we ordered our entrees, one of which was brisket....which they were out of. We then waited 45 minutes to get our food. When they brought it out, they forgot mine and had to rush back in and make me a plate, which they did in less than 3 minutes....so I'm not sure why it took the rest of our food 45 minutes. However, they brought my plate and I just had to laugh. I ordered chicken and pulled pork, fries, and green beans. I got chicken and sliced pork with fries and baked beans. They had to rectify that, which they did in 5 minutes (again, why did it then take 45 minutes the first round). Our daughter is tired and unruly at this point (thanks to being hangry, not having chocolate milk, and having to sit for so long). My drink has long since been empty. The waitress then leaves us to eat for another 40 minutes. Plates are cleaned and we are waiting for our check. In the meantime, two more tables get sat down next to us, order, and receive their food. The waitress comes back to check on us and we ask for pie to go and our check. We should have just asked for the check. Because apparently they had to go down to Florida for those coconuts for the coconut cream pie. After another 30 minutes, we receive our pies and check (and the other two tables have finished up and received their check). On top of that, none of the food was all that good. I ended up not eating my pork (sliced or shredded) because it was tasteless. The baked beans were basically molasses and beans. The chicken was dry as sandpaper. My daughter's chicken nuggets were cooked to a crisp. But my husband did enjoy his ribs and our daughter ate everyone else's texas toast because that's all she could stomach. We don't plan to be back...
Read moreI drove a long way to get some good brisket, so I thought. When I arrived there was one person in front of me. They must have called in their order because it was already to go. The very nice gentleman was patient with me because I didn't know what I wanted. End up getting the dinner for two and 1/2 pound of brisket. It was ready within minutes, kinda shocked me. When I got home and opened my order up, it smelled so good. The sides were so small. The bbq sauce was the same size. All the meat was dry except the chicken quarter. It was so small that the leg part was smaller than a wing leg portion. My son ate it in one bite. But it was juicy and delicious. The brisket just crumbled, no juice at all. Even the ribs were dry. Every single meat in the order needed bbq sauce or extra just to eat it. Will never go back. I spent $70 for that. There is nothing wrong with paying for good food, but that was a waste. City bbq would have been better, cheaper, and closer. Wish I...
Read moreThe food was very tasty. Good appetizers, the ribs were done quite well. Pulled pork was also very good. Sides complemented the main courses. Portions were just about perfect in sizing. We were able to have several choices without leaving anything behind or getting that stuffed feeling. Sauces could match your tastes quite well, and they are their own sauces. The restaurant was very clean, the staff kept it that way. Service was excellent. We were in on a busy day, and staff was accommodating all the guests in a very timely fashion. They knew their products, and could make suggestions with knowledge. Bussing tables was done rapidly, and ensuring the tables were clean. I would heartily recommend this place to anyone looking for good food at reasonable prices. They also have a beer selection for those who would want alcohol with their meal. We will be taking friends there in the not too distant future. Good food, good service, good atmosphere. Hard to beat...
