Not gyro whatsoever. I ordered the "lamb gyro" and was given ground beef (I think) but it was obvious and disappointing that it's not gyro. Of course they offer a chicken version but I chose the "lamb" because I wanted a real gyro from Gyros and More.
"Gyro- meat, usually lamb, roasted on a vertical spit, then thinly sliced"
Shame because it's so close to my home but I can't return to a restaurant with dishonest food. Attention please. Never underestimate your clientele and be honest with your offerings. To fake it is to lose and in Hammond; there's no return from failing at honesty. Maybe the next restaurant to move into this spot will be worth it. I expect we'll see a new one soon.
$20 I got a ground beef taco in naan bread. I also ordered 5 pucks of falafel that come as a side but to have a sauce included costs extra. I needed the sauce for the falafel because while it looked crafted in-house, I was given a dense and unfortunately dry and maybe over-cooked chickpea fritter.
The menu shows "white sauce" with no other description and also probably made in-house but more mayo based and I'd be surprised if yogurt was present at all. Yogurt costs more than mayo so makes sense. I asked for tzatziki and the guy had no idea what I meant.
There was also a "red sauce" I paid extra for that didn't seem to be made in-house and probably Frank's cayenne pepper sauce watered down. This is exactly what it tasted of. And I do love some Frank's (used to be Durkee) but it's not ok here.
I have no issue with this restaurant other than them delivering what I feel is dishonest food compared to what the menu states. What I'd hoped for is a quick spot near home that served a decent gyro. Such is not the case.
Will update this review tomorrow if everything goes well after I...
Read moreFirst visit - not blown away but did not leave disappointed. Grabbed a lamb and chicken platter. Chicken was pretty well dry but hopefully because we came at a non rush time. Lamb was moist though. Everything else was as you would expect from the photo. Surprisinly they were out of chick peas. Without the red sauce and the white sauce there wouldn't be much to say here (kinda like Cane's and their chicken - without the sauce what is it really). The red sauce gave me a spicy cocktail vibe. Really liked it. That being said! We liked it overall and want to come back and try some other items. Maybe the gyro fries next, or just an all gyro platter. I think that would...
Read moreI tried this place because it has 4.8 stars. I walked in, and I greeted the lady at the counter. She barely said a word. I ordered the chicken plate with i guess you'd call this a salad to go with it. My salad had a hair in it, and the chicken is DRY! I'm assuming it's curry chicken as im not certain. I was hoping it would be amazing, but it highly disappointed. Wish I would've spent my...
