We visited Feta Flav on their first week, so this review will be updated at our next visit, since I’m confident the kinks will be worked out:
Of course, had to have Gyro since it’s made in a more “authentic” street food manner on a spit. I can’t stand the Gyros sold elsewhere in the region that go from frozen to flattop grill.
We arrived towards close, but I found the meat to be a bit dry and the tzatziki and toppings too few. I’ll probably need to order extra next time, but I rather too little than too much. Wet/messy gyros are terrible and usually mask the texture of the meat.
The side dishes we ordered were phenomenal. I forget what we had, but the seasonings were perfect.
Portions were good, price was a tad bit high, but since this is the only place that isn’t a Italian-Greek debauchery, I’m willing to spend a bit more for the flavors I crave.
There was no alcohol available at the time, but hopefully some affordable Hellenic wine will be on the menu and we’ll be sure to partake. No Frappe which was a let down, but I see it’s on the menu now.
If it wasn’t opening week this would be a 3 star review since there were a few misses, but I anticipate things have stabilized and...
Read moreThis was the second time my partner and I have eaten at Feta Flav and have been so so so impressed with the quality of the food - fresh pasta was the best I’ve ever had! The Athenian pasta sauce was next level gourmet with delicious ingredients and complexity. I’m a picky eater and I found this dish to be delightfully well balanced and flavorful. They have a couple of baked pasta dishes that take 25min to cook to order and are totally worth it. Oh yeah, rotating flavor homemade hummus! The grilled bass was beautifully presented on the plate, perfectly cooked and seasoned and gone from my husband’s plate within about 7 minutes lol. Do not forget the desserts. We have tried almost all of them and they’re lovely. The chef Alex comes out to the table to ask how the food was and you can tell he really cares. This isn’t just a restaurant to him. He wants you to have an experience not just a meal. The place is super cute with a lovely shade of blue on the walls, local artwork, and the coolest picture of Zeus I’ve ever seen. Even if you don’t like Greek food you should give it a go. You won’t be sorry! Plus there’s a...
Read moreBeen looking forward to trying out this new restaurant. The food was hit and miss. My husband and I ordered two appetizers and one entree to split. The waitress said we had to pay a $3 fee to split the entree. Seemed a bit excessive since we were ordering two appetizers as well as the entree. We had the 2 dips with pita bread, and chose the hummus and spicy feta options. Loved the spicy feta, the hummus was unique and not our favorite, but not horrible. The other appetizer was the spanikopita, which was amazing. Highly recommend it!! Our entree was the falafel gyro, which was good. The two sides we picked were lemon potatoes, which I liked the flavor of, but half were burnt. The other side was roasted vegetables in tomato sauce (briam?). It had a sweet taste, like cinnamon and nutmeg or cloves in it. The waitress asked how our food was and we shared that we really didn't like that one dish. No offer to exchange it for something else. Overall okay experience, hopefully they'll improve in service and taste with time. Would love to make this a regular...
