Curry & Crust Indian Cuisine Desi Pizza — Restaurant in Hillsboro

Me and my family went here for my mom's birthday dinner on 4-30-2024, and it was phenomenal! We all LOVED the food and were extremely happy with our choice. We love Indian food, but had yet to finally try this place.

We had a Pizza split with one half Butter Chicken and the other Garlic Lamb, Tendoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer, Garlic Naan, Roti, Kulcha and Mango Lasi. In my opinion, the least favorite item (though still good) was the Lamb Pizza. It ultimately tasted like a Garlic Cheese Pizza haha. The best was... well the one dish everyone in the reviews raves about - the butter chicken. The sauce pairs well with absolutely everything and put me in heaven with every bite. Everything else was equally great with each other, sat between the prior two.

The service was painfully slow and a bit inattentive given there seemed to be only two people on staff tonight, so though understandable was a bit unfortunate for sure. Otherwise it was fantastic as they were both very nice.

The "atmosphere" is always the category that matters the least to me, and thus I find to be difficult to review since... I'm going to a restaurant to eat, not to be a decor snob haha. It's fine, simple, and a bit intimate, with minor decorations. If you are someone who finds themselves to be into focusing on interiors and "atmosphere", you likely will not be the most at home here. Simplicity is likely "too basic" for your... "sophisticated qualifications", let's say. haha.

Review is not about food but service. It is a post to make people aware of what to expect incase they place order through an app in the restaurant I have been a loyal customer to the place i think for close to 9 years My favorite dish - pizza ( best in the area) I decided to do a take out order through an app. When going to pick the food i changed my mind and wanted to sit and eat as the restaurant was empty and looked calm. But to my surprise i came to know that i cannot order food through an app and decide to eat at the restaurant. I am allowed to order food on the phone as-take out and decide to sit am, but not through the app. The reason for such a decision by the restaurant/ business is because they dont make enough money through the app so the customer cannot sit and eat if food ordered through the app At the end of the day i totally agree it is upto the business to decide on their services to customers. I was just disappointed and wanted to share my experience so that fellow customers know what to expect. I wish i knew this before placing the order so that i could have placed order on the phone and would have eaten peacefully at the restaurant or i wish the restaurant was not listed on the app so that the only way was for me to call the restaurant and place order. I love the place for the pizza so i will continue to be a customer but will be cautious and plan better as i know what to expect if i order...

Went for the Sunday buffet to Curry & Crust for the 1st time after the pandemic expecting a good meal & were surprised by the drop in quality.

The veg section had a palak paneer dish that looked pale green, and sparse on paneer. There were 2-3 other veg dishes which I decided not to partake of (to be fair I came for the non-veg items on the buffet). Then there were 4 slices of a cold veg pizza! Previously there used to be an assortment of pizzas, all nice and hot to choose from.

On the non-veg side, there was butter chicken that was quite good and a lamb dish with gravy and no lamb in it. There was half a non-veg pizza, again cold. I took a slice & it was inedible, so I left it uneaten.

On the positive side, the chutneys were good and the Naan brought to our table was of very good quality. The chai & gulab jamuns were also very good. The table Service was very good. The Indian gentleman who was waiting tables was polite, attentive and helpful. The ambience was very nice.

All in all the Sunday buffet at Curry & Crust has gone from excellent pre-pandemic, to poor quality post-pandemic.
