Another updated review. 10-2-2021. Why didn’t I learn my lesson two years ago? Thought new ownership would improve with time but they actually got worse! As others mentioned- ZERO alcohol in the margaritas. Ordered two “skinny margaritas ” was $9 or so on menu. Bartender asked what kind of tequila we wanted. I said something mid range, he gave us Don Julio and asked if we wanted “tall” sure, why not? Glass was mostly ice, could not detect any tequila at all. Halfway through we ordered two shots to add to our drinks, you would think the bartender would get the hint that he made the drinks way too weak, but no…. With “talls” and an added shot, we still could not tell that they had any alcohol? They OBVIOUSLY water down their alcohol. The check came and each drink cost SEVENTEEN dollars and change! The shots were $9 a piece making each drink cost essentially $26+! The food was also very mediocre. Lesson learned, I will NEVER, EVER frequent this poor excuse for a restaurant again. Note to Management- Don't bother leaving a reply stating how hard you are trying, it’s obviously a bunch of B.S. Updated review as of 9-18-19. This place used to be great before they changed ownership. Now, it's just alright. The menu is different which is a bummer. It's basically a different restaurant with the same name. Service is slow. Sat at the bar for at least 10 minutes before anyone appeared from the back. When the bartender made our second round of drinks he didn't bother to give us new glasses. He used a cocktail shaker to make them and poured them right over our...
Read moreWhen the restaurant was branded as Plaza Azteca it was esteemed for the large portions, top-notch service, and high quality ingredients. I dined last weekend with a few issues: The first, my fajitas were brought to the table without the rice, beans, tortillas, and side of guacamole. Our server told me she'd be right back with them, however, It was AT LEAST five minute before our server returned to check-in on us, still without the tortillas and guacamole in-hand. At this point, the temperature of the fajitas significantly dropped. The portion was certainly a lunch size, not suitable for a dinner entree, with essentially no peppers or onions, and the steak was tough. The second issue I take an ever larger issue with: I was totally scammed by the manager. I had a $50 gift card for Plaza Azteca. She said the system doesn't register the old gift cards. She informed me that if I gave her the $50 card, she would replace it with $20. I trusted her. And I shouldn't have. Much to my surprise, when I received the bill at the end of the meal, the receipt said right on the top, "Plaza Azteca - Hingham". Obviously it was the same system and I was totally scammed. I was utterly disappointed to see such and I am strongly investigating what action I can take to ensure my funds be returned to me immediately. Over all, the food was poor, but the service, and to be scammed as such when the receipt and POS are clearly still for Plaza Azteca is...
Read moreWe have been going to this location for about three years now and have had decent service. When COVID hit we still tried to support or out local restaurants so we started to order take out. We have gone in a few times for dine in since COVID as we like the atmosphere however still order take out generally every two or three weeks. We generally have no major issues. A few weeks ago we ordered on a Saturday night and we were told it would be about a half hour for our food. We got there and went it at the time our food should have been ready and our food still wasn't out. I waited 45 additional minutes to get my for take out. I was told two or three times "they were just packing it up." I finally asked to see a manager and it took her 10 minutes to come out and she gave me a gift card and said "We are sorry. We are taking care of your meal." (It was about $68). I understood they were short handed and said I appreciated them taking care of it. Today I went to go use the gift card to find out there was only $15 on it. I questioned it and was told "yeah, that's generally what we give." For a loyal customer who spends around $70 dollars every other week or so at your restaurant, I think you could have given more than $15 for a 45 minute past the projected wait for food. They have good food but after being loyal to them, I am a bit concerned of their true loyalty to...
