Solo's Pizza — Restaurant in Holmes Beach

The short version is that I do not recommend visiting this restaurant. The service is terrible. I'm a seasonal tourist and I've been there in the past and it was quite good. As of now the food quality has gone down hill and the staff is awful. The seasoned waitress is quite rude. Apparently 5 tables is too much for 2 servers. :eyeroll

The longer version is that our waitress got my order wrong. It happens, I'm not too irritated by that. The other waitress told us that it would be remedied in 6 minutes. The rest of our party was finished eating by the time our food came. She seemed a bit taken aback by our suggestion we not pay full price for our very late and partially burnt calzone. She was very dismissive of us and quickly darted from the table. The owner came out and asked how our meal was, and we briefly explained that we were a bit bothered that the staff seemed to not care that our experience sucked. (paraphrased). He said he would talk to them but generally seems to also not really care. I get it, they don't care. I feel like we pay a premium to go out, have good food, and have the staff at least pretend to care. Our food wasn't great the service was worse, and they dropped $3 from the bill to compensate us for our experience. To add insult to injury, the party we went with didn't want to go here because their last experience was awful. Burned food, and dismissive staff... I convinced them it was just a bad night and that this place had always been good to us. Clearly this is an issue now and we won't be going back. While just a few of us not coming back a few times a year won't make much of a difference, I hope to stop others from repeating our mistake. There are a number of excellent food options on the island and unfortunately this is no longer...

DON'T EAT HERE!!!!! 1 star only because zero was not a choice. The door says they open at 4. Called to place our order at 4:05. I was told they were not open. Sent my daughters down to the restaurant. They text me at at 4:18....still not open. They were able to go in and explained that the door says open at 4, we called, and now there and still not open. SOLO's did take the order, but said they really weren't ready. Finally got the pizza and it was awful. We had good luck there last visit down (we did eat in that time) so after our 22 hour drive, non-stop, wanted something good, no cooking. We will never go to Solos again nor recommend it. Open and be ready when you say and maybe the pizza would have been better. Felt like it was money literally thrown out. Burnt and tasted like cardboard. Apparently they don't care about their take out costumers a bit. They really need help with customer relations and business management. If you don't want to be open at 4...don't put that on the door. I read another complaint that said they arrived at 9:30 or so and Solos was closed. The open sign was on and the door said they close at 10:30. Not at all good...

Oi Solo's!, What's up with your business telephone phone line tried to call twice tonight business hours on google reference said open for business till 11:30pm; now it's 10 p.m. my cousins visiting from out of town and we want a nice Pizza not Domino's and not some frozen cardboard box Publix brand you guys want to update your phone line or lines; or mebbe perhaps did you not pay your phone bill for the month idunno so say what's up with that?
