I would like to give some constructive critics: we wanted to try this place yesterday but after having waited for like 10 mins for giving our order, they said they had run out of rice (the main garnish for most of the plates!) half hour before closing. Then we gave this place one more chance today. We ordered the signiture angry shrimp plate and asked for the spicy one. After having waited for 40 minutes (this meal could have been prepared in 15mins!),we asked about our order. They said that someone else picked it up. I really doubt this because we were constantly listening to our order number to be mentioned and they didn’t say it. We got a plate in the end and they said it was the same food. I don’t know if it was true because it was extremely hot (even for me who likes hot food), not just spicy like we asked. And the “salad” part was also a tiny portion, more like decoration than garnish. The service was extremely chaotic and slow both nights we visited this place. Hope you will focus on these problems (please think about streamlining the process!), and will improve your food truck because currently it’s more like angry customers...
Read moreAngry Shrimp was one of the first stops for us during our trip to Oahu in April. Conveniently located in a food pod at Kapuni and Kuhio, they serve up some pretty good eats in the heart of Waikiki.
Our first visit, we tried their appropriately named crispy and juicy oyster plate. The hot and juicy crisp oysters were good and paired well with the furikake seasoned rice.
We can't back for a revisit and ordered their garlic butter shrimp plate. It's a bit different from the garlic shrimp that we've traditionally had from the north shore but I really liked the sauteed mushrooms and onions in the garlic sauce. Honestly think this was one of the better garlic shrimp plates you can get in Waikiki. The Hawaiian iced tea with cane juice was spot on too. Definitely...
Read moreFound this cute hidden gem as I was researching where to find coconut shrimp in Honolulu (away from tourist spots) and WOW. All I can say is the coconut shrimp and miso butterfish was the BEST I'VE HAD! And I've tried a lot on this island and am very picky.
This place is new as it just opened up in 2023. I met the chef, Jasmine who's super cool and is very talented in the kitchen. Everything she made was SUPER FRESH and delicious.
The coconut shrimp was soft- juicy on inside but perfectly coated with coconut and fried-crunchy on outside.
The miso cod was melt in your mouth, buttery soft. This is probably ranked up there with Roy's miso butterfish as far as quality and flavor.
The prices are good as well. Can't wait to come back and try the other things...
