Me and my wife were hungry after work and decided to find a Mexican eatery. Driving down airline drive had lots of choices. I stopped here Because I liked the old rustic building which had cool ship port style windows. We visited the establishment around three thirty pm and were the only ones there before the dinner crowd, which was nice, quiet, and peaceful. The waitress was very attentive and eager to wait on us when ever we needed anything. We ordered 3 entrees between the two of us which was way more than enough food, we were not able to finish the meal and was offered a take home tray for left over. I ordered the cod plate with fried rice and salad. I am not used to eating whole fish cooked with bone in and found it a little irritating to constantly removing tiny bones. After squeezing some lemon, lime, and orange slices over fish it did bring out a more pleasurable taste. The fired rice was really good, better than the fried rice you find at an oriental eatery. The salad was fresh. The second entree was catfish, fries, and salad. The fish was cooked perfectly and had no gamey taste. The third entree was a chicken, pork, onion mix with flour tortillas and fried shrimp. The meat was soft not over cooked and seasoned gently. A side bowl of bean soup came with the order and it was spot on. I have eaten at many so called authentic Mexican food eateries and this one has to be the most authentic eatery I ran across. Three entrees, bowl bean soup, chips and salsa only cost 44 dollars and was worth it. Now a days the average cost for two out to eat is between 40-60 dollars and sometimes higher. I enjoyed the food, atmosphere,...
Read moreAfter hearing their ad on the radio i had such great expectations but i ended up being very disappointed where do i even start? I did order different items from their menu just to be fair and give it a good try this is what i ordered from them CAMARÓN BOTANA MOLCAJETE DE MARISCOS PASTA ALFREDO CON CAMARONES PARRILLADA CON BROCHETAS MICHELADA BRAVA Where do i start? "CAMARÓN BOTANA" they were not served hot, the corn on the cob that came with it was still frozen in the middle. Shrimp were cooked but the sauce had no flavor whatsoever "MOLCAJETE DE MARISCOS" lobster tail was over cooked super chewy and rubbery, fish that came in it had absolutely no taste. I asked for hot sauce our server never returned "PASTA ALFREDO CON CAMARONES" the sauce tasted like store bought canned Alfredo sauce, shrimp was overcooked and rubbery "PARRILLADA CON BROCHETAS" Beef fajita was so tough, bacon wrapped Shrimp were burned on the outside, side rice was cold, dry and hard. "MICHELADA BRAVA" I did enjoy the michelada and liked it's presentation. 👍 Overall experience was not so great, I guess our server was way too busy, I asked for lime and hot sauce but she never got it to our table. Women's Bathroom sink was out of service, bathroom lock did not work, toilet hardly flushed. Any how I feel like they could do better, hopefully this review will encourage owners /management to at least fix the bathrooms. I had such high expectations and they have absolutely let me down. I feel like this is a seafood restaurant so they should at least deliver "not overcooked Lobster and shrimp" Thanks...
Read moreFirst of all yes this place was empty should of raised a red flag before stopping by!!! ,my coworker and I ordered a shrimp cocktail and when they brought it over we right away noticed that there was something wrong. They don't cook they're shrimp so they make this "sauce" and it's supposed to replace the original shrimp juice when you cook it , i wanted to put my own ingredients but i couldnt anymore since the taste of the sauce was so salty and ketchup like . We asked if we could change it for something else and they quickly responded im sorry but thats how we make it and no exchanges.. so we were stuck with something we didn't want. When we asked if they can explain how they make their Coctel de Camaron no one knew how the cook does it ...hmmm and what happens to the shrimp juice when you boil the shrimp, ohhh yeah they don't cook shrimp I forgot. Finally the manager brought us over some shrimp juice but it was the same style with the red sauce that tastes like camaron seco. Overall horrible experience would of been nice if they would listen to our opinions and change the order to the customers request, I guess the customer doesn't matter, that explains why it's so empty .. the crawfish was awful too it was...
