Twisted Turban — Restaurant in Houston

I can't believe it's taking me so long to try this place out. The staff are SUPER friendly and the food was amazing, and so different from anything else I've tried.

We had the loaded tots which were the most "standard" item I tried. LOTS of tots with LOTS of cheese and toppings... honestly, how could you go wrong, delicious.

We also had the Samosa Chaat. These were small several (5-6 maybe?) samosas lined up on a long plate and covered in sauces and garbanzo beans. They had a nice mild, well balanced taste. THe Indian flavors came through without being overpowering.

I had the Turban burger it was clear they use good beef, it's a 1/2 pound burger that doesn't melt away upon cooking. Also the meat was PERFECTLY cooked, just a little pink the middle. The toppings were good including the "Turban Sauce" which is like a mild hot sauce with Indian Spices added. The bun was clearly freshly made too, and a great consistency for a burger.

Finally, the kind staff bought us out a free sample of the "Pina Coco Crunch" desert. Two people in our group (including me) are really fans of coconut but we tried it anyway. This was amazing! The pineapple custard was delicious and coconut didn't overpower the dish like it does in so many other things. Also, a lot of places tend to equate sweeter with better in desserts and just go for as much over-sweetness as possible. This dessert was sweet but not as crazy sweet as it could easily have been. It was good enough we each took and order of it to go for later.

Overall, not a super cheap meal (starter, burger and drink for about $25), but I've got a big appetite and just could not move afterwards I was so full and it was delicious. We'll be...

I don't know how I missed this place but decided to give it a try and boy was I glad to. We arrived late but there wasn't any stares or concern from the counter. They took our order and have a good selection. I tried the "Chikna Burger" and we got a Chicken Quesadilla along with a taco (can't recall the name).

My daughter was concerned about the spice level in front of the person at the counter and he made it a point later to come to our table and ask how spicy we wanted it. Obviously he was paying attention and understood it was for her and wanted to accommodate. Major praise here as most places wouldn't pay such close attention. In addition, after I ordered I asked for water for my daughter and had already paid. I was told they only had bottled water so I didn't get it as I didn't have cash in hand. When he brought the food out, he heard my daughter ask me for water again and quietly went to the cooler and got her a bottle without asking for anything in return. I took note of his kindness and appreciate going out of his way to keep us happy as customers.

We already planned a repeat visit and I can say TT has earned not only a good review but also plan to bring our family and friends over.

Food was very tasty and lots of spices were used. Can tell the quality was also there. Chickna burger was a good choice. Would recommend the brisket taco as well with the spicy slaw but can't think of...
