Boba Clucker — Restaurant in Hurst

Nice place. But don't come here for the chicken. I think I had the wrong impression about the place. It's a boba place, 1st and foremost. And they serve gelato. And then 3rd, there's some chicken. We got a couple of chicken strip meals, and as other folks have mentioned, the quality of the chicken is not that great. On par with grocery store frozen chicken tenders than were deep fried. Very crispy but very little flavor. I don't think they could have cooked them better. I don't think they had quality ingredients to start with. The sauces were mid as well, probably bought from the same grocery store. The fries were pretty good. Cajun fries were crispy and flavorful and not overboard. The sweet potato fries are worth coming to get though. Crunchy on the outside, melt in your mouth on the inside. Really, really good. I don't care if they probably came from the freezer aisle from Kroger or Costco. We also got the black tea, and this ain't no normal black tea. I don't know what it was but it was better than the tea you have had at other restaurants. I don't know what the difference was but there were just more flavors in that cup than in any other unsweetened tea I've ever had. Staff was nice. The guy behind the counter was probably the owner as he seemed really invested in how we felt about our meal. I didn't have the heart to tell him that his chicken strips were crunchy but meh. You

I arrived at 6 pm and there was only one other customer there who already had their food and was eating. I ordered 2 tender combo meals and 2 strawberry cheesecake drinks. It took the guy working nearly an hour to make my order! Actually 53 mins…I was tired from my day and thought I would just swing in and grab some dinner real fast. Big mistake on my part! I watched the guy just move along with no type of urgency or care. The guy was moving SO slow at one point I thought it had to be a joke and that I must of been on some prank show!!! It was THAT bad. The food was hot and fresh so I can vouch for that but the time I sat there waiting for it was ridiculous. The owners seems to really work hard to give good customer service and quality food and I hate that a teenager could ruin their good reputation. The owners weren't working that night. Our party of 6 went to this restaurant for dinner. The french fries were out of this world - like over the top and I don't want FF's from anywhere else. The service was very lacking - the drinks took 15 minutes to get to the table. The first order came out. Apparently our order while paid for got lost in the system and we had to ask about it. The order had not been started and took another 20 minutes to arrive. We had ordered an appetizer and the guy taking the orders never heard us request that. I asked if they could substitute sweet potato fried for regular, he said yes, then charged us for them.
