Food was delicious, which was a shame because the server was slow and did not listen to what was said. I ordered a med-rare burger and my mother ordered a rare burger. Mine was visibly much redder than hers. We had to ask around four seperate times for a side of mayo that only came after we had finished our food. My grandfathers burger came with pickles despite that not being in the description, and we laughed it off. I had the passing thought, "what if someone was allergic?". Well, my answer came shortly after. We ordered what was listed on the menu as a "banana cheesecake flauta". It was not described to have any kind of nuts or items besides the tortilla, cheesecake filling, banana, and cinnamon sugar. There were no allergen notices on the menu. Me and my mother split this dessert- or tried to. I quickly noticed a peanut butter flavor, which is terrifying because my mother has a peanut allergy. We asked our waitress, she did not know if it contained peanuts. We asked the owner, he did not know if it contained peanuts. They had to go discuss it in the back to confirm what we had quickly figured out- that the dessert did contain a peanut butter spread. The staff all apologized profusely, explaining that the business had only been open for two weeks, that they'd known there were some discrepancies between the menu and the items. To their credit, they did comp the entire meal. Our Friday night was spent in an urgent care as my mother developed a reaction severe enough to be classified as anaphylaxis. If there are common allergens like peanuts in the kitchen or in the food, every member of staff should be aware of it, and it should be clearly labelled on the menu- i don't care if you have to write it in sharpie on each individual one. If my mother had had a more severe reaction she could have died. Do better. Learn from this. Fix your menus. Do not endanger anyone else's life.
