Firstly, at the time we arrive, 3:25 pm, Saturday, Dec. 16, there was only about 10 cars or less in the parking lot. No hostess at the desk. Two parties ahead of us and we all waited nearly 10 minutes to be seated. The hostess took our drink orders, which were water with lemon. She forgot the lemon and got it from the bar and brought us a plate of lemons that were awful. They were slimy, and not fresh at all. We have a photo of them and did not use them. Everyone was seated in the same area, far side of restaurant where the cup lights were turned up so high that they were blinding us. I have an ear disease that causes vertigo and a trigger is bright lights. We asked our server Devon, who never told us his name until we asked, to dim the lights and explained why. Other diners were complaining about the lights. He didn't do it until about 30 minutes later. Devon didn't give us the usual greeting we are used to - we've been dining at this Carrabba's for many years. We saw the manager and asked him to dim the lights, explaining why, and he said he would and didn't do it. Finally, we asked Devon again and he dimmed the lights. By then, I was experiencing vertigo and had been forced to take medication. Never have the lights been this bright before. The meal was good, as always, but this was the worse service we've ever had, from the harried hostess who gave us the bad lemons, to the manager, wearing a flannel shirt and no name tag, who didn't look like a manager and didn't act like one. Devon redeemed himself by finishing the meal for us with good service. Food was perfect as always. Usually, the manager visits every table, this one did not. We had to ask for him. The biggest plus of the day was the fact the store was decorated for Christmas and playing Christmas music. That made our day since so many restaurants are not doing this anymore. Will we return? Yes. It's our favorite restaurant in that area. Frankly, the seating oddity, the lights turned up as high as they go and the dirty, slimy lemons was such a turn off. We've been going to this restaurant for years and not our first bad experience. However, out of maybe 8 visits a year here in the years they've been open, we've only had about 5 bad experiences. But yesterday's was the worst one, considering it was late afternoon and they were not busy whatsoever. Will we return? Yes, but not for a long while.
