I visited the restaurant last night. I was told that they make everything fresh. If you have ever had Pakistani/Indian food or cooked it at home you know that it takes hours to develop flavor in a Pakistani meal. My food was ready in less than 10 minutes. I ordered the Ginger Butter Chicken, I paid almost $20 with the tip, for Pakistani fastfood. Dissatisfied is by far an under statement. It was by far the worst Indian/Pakistani food that I have ever put in my mouth. Very flavorless, so disappointing. The food is over priced and definitely not true Authentic Pakistani food. I think they should at least give a piece of bread with the meal. I've had better Indian food from a freezer meal at Kroger. Save your money and pass on this fastfood option at the Garage.
*So since the owner felt he had to do a huge rebuttal here's my reply to his comment. Yes I did ask questions I asked how it could be prepared fresh, he never told me about 24 hour of marination but if it is then it was even worse than I thought because the chicken wasn't flavorful and I had asked for spicy. I'm not a food expert but I am food judge and I have personally cooked Pakistani/Indian food at home so I have personal experience. The reason my questions were to find out the prices of the foods on the menu. Because all the prices were whited out. My son being from Pakistan was a common ground comment nothing more. I have eaten Indian food at almost every Indian restaurant in Indianapolis and Greenwood plus in other states and counties so when I say that this was the worst I have a lot to compare it to. The Owner was kind and friendly but preoccupied with his cellphone. The food smelled wonderful but the sauce was watery. Take your chances and try it for yourself. These my opinions only. I love Indian /Pakistani food ordinarily. This place...
Read moreCame to the garage and wanted to give this place a try. No one was at the counter, but there was a QR code to view the menu and order. I ordered Palak Paneer (mild), Chicken Biryani (very spicy) and a Mango Lassi. A ticket printed at the counter and sat for a while before someone came out of the kitchen and took it. I waited about 15 minutes to receive my order after the ticket was picked up.
The biryani was very very greasy. Some people like this style but this was over the top oily. It was nice to see it being made with bone in chicken and whole spices, but the grease cancelled all of that out and made it almost inedible. Most other Indian spots around won't make their biryani this greasy.
The Palak Paneer was okay but not impressive. Not very flavorful and an average amount of paneer included. Thankfully it wasn't as greasy as the biryani. Palak Paneer is my husband's favorite food and he was disappointed by this one, wouldn't even finish it which is unheard of for him.
Mango Lassi was good and would get it again, but I won't be having a full meal here again. Like others said, there are plenty of other Indian spots with way better...
Read moreI love Indo-Pak food, and I was so excited to try this place. I ordered some garlic naan to go with my veggie biryani and unfortunately they were both disappointing. Garlic naan was made to order, but when I received it, I agree with the other reviewer that it looked and tasted like it was made from store-bought pizza dough and was extremely stodgy. Some sort of butter/garlic/parsley finely blended paste was spread on top that was reminiscent of a Domino's pizza crust. Vegetable biryani was lacking in quality (only used mixed frozen veggies, onion, a few potatoes, and some raisins) and had a soggy texture. I would be more lenient on this restaurant because their portions are large and I definitely didn't leave hungry, but for the price point (which is comparable to sit-down Indian restaurants of much better quality) the food deserves more care and thought. Really sad and disappointed with what I thought would be a...
