Visited on a Wednesday night around 7pm and had to wait for about 20 minutes before we could be seated. This isn't our first visit to this location but they continue to do a good business. We have always been happy with the food in service in the past and it's why we continue to go back. Once again, the hostess was friendly and gave us an accurate estimate of our wait. When we were seated, our waitress came to the table and took our drink orders and was pleasant. My wife ordered a plain hamburger cooked medium with the famous house-made chips and I ordered the swamp chicken (Caribbean sauce) with a baked potato and a salad. My food was very good. The salad was made with fresh ingredients, the baked potato was as good as any other I've had, and the swamp chicken was delicious. I finished both pieces. My wife's hamburger arrived and when she took a bite, she discovered it wasn't cooked medium. It was cooked rare. My wife called our waitress over and they cooked another one for her that was cooked properly. This is really a cool dining experience with the two levels and the low lighting and I'd recommend this to anyone who wants good food and good service. I truly believe our experience with the hamburger was an abnormal event.

Came in for dinner on Feb 2, 2024. The dinner started out fine. The waitress asked for our drink orders and got us our drinks quickly then disappeared for 20 mins. When she finally came to take our order she apologized saying she was busy. We had no issue with this. The food came out ice cold 40 mins later and our waitress did not check on us once in that time to even top up our drinks which were empty. We tried to waive her down to tell her about the food. She ignored us, so I had to ask another waitress if she could have our waitress come over. When she finally came over we told her the food came out cold. She said okay and took our food. When the food came back out again the drinks were still empty and she finally filled up our drinks. The food was warm but barely. She never came back to check if the food was warm or okay. No manager ever came to check on us either. The only time we saw our waitress again was when she dropped of the checks. I was charged an extra $0.50 for something called open food. No idea what this was. I quess I was charged for the small cup of A1 sauce that came with my steak sandwich. I spent 80% of my time at the restaurant without a drink and without service. Our waitress Nevaeh was rarely seen and only came to our table when we asked another waitress to see her. A very poor and shocking experience.

Craig, our server was more than wonderful and I thank him. HAZARD - Toilet in women's restroom (maybe both of them) is not fully bolted down to the ground. The whole toilet wobbles. Not the seat, the toilet itself Restaurant is dirty, especially the window boxes (super dusty and possible spider web balls, idk what they're called). Made me mad since I had to sit next to all of that. It doesn't take long to clean. Take pride in your working environment, management. Gnats, all over our table & food. Made me lose my appetite because we were all having to swat them away, before, during, & after the meal. The dirtiness and gnats just made it gross. Fried pickles, good. Salad, tasted dirty & the greens were very warm. Teriyaki chicken was dry and not very tender with not much teriyaki sauce. Potato, good. Drinking glass, dirty (food stuck on it, not my food bc I hadn't gotten my food). Feces on toilet. Sad.

What a cool place to have a meal. A very casual atmosphere, and friendly staff. We loved all the antique relics that were throughout the restaurant. We started off our meal with Homemade Chips & Dip. Wow. The chips were thin, crispy and fried to perfection. The ranch dipping sauce was so delicious. Just thin enough to grab onto the chip, and it added the perfect flavor to enhance the flavor of the potato chip. The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was delicious. The fries chicken was smothered in an amazing buffalo sauce that had the right amount of heat. The Swamp Nachos were chock full of meat and cheese that was piled on chips, and the portion was more than enough for one person. My wife couldn't stop telling me how much she enjoyed it. I had the Swamp Tenderloin. A grilled piece of pork with lots of cheese and sauce that made it messy to eat, and I enjoyed every morsel. We look forward to going back soon.

I haven’t been to Shallo’s in quite a long time but recently, my parents wanted to make a revisit so we did just that. Walking in, they were pretty busy and there was about a 30 minute wait. We were seated in about that time. Starting off, our waitress was super friendly, gave great recommendations on the menu. We got the house made chips as an appetizer, and they were amazing! Super crispy, salted really well, and overall, just amazing! As my entree, I decided to try the fish and chips. And well, it was okay, the breading was not very crispy and almost tasted slightly undercooked. There wasn’t much seasoning in it either. The fries were average as well. For desert, we got the brownie sundae, that was out of this world! The brownie was super gooey and baked to perfection. Overall, Shallo’s is a good joint if you’re in Greenwood. I’ll return at some point to try their tenderloin!

I’ve eaten at Shallos since the 90’s but thought I’d leave a review. My pictures are taken on the balcony side and this is why I am leaving the review! I’ve never been seated there before and it’s great! The server (who was excellent) told me that people do not like to sit there because it’s away from everyone and too quiet! But I loved being able to see over the bar! I got there at 6 and they had a half hour wait! They text you so I went over to Academy Sports and browsed around! I’ve had everything on the menu and I love the in house chips and swamp nachos. The French onion soup is very hard to pass up because it is fantastic! Maui Maui tacos were on point. Go to Shallos, you will not be disappointed ever!!!
