I've been coming to Gipsy Lime somewhat regularly for the better part of 2 years. I used to love this place, albeit it was a little annoying that they didn't accept Discover as a payment method. Food was always pretty good, typically it would come out pretty fast. However, over the course of the past six months, I feel like the portions and the food quality have gone down. Additionally, service has gotten worse and worse.
Today I stopped by for lunch with my colleagues and the experience and service we received were unacceptable. After ordering, we waited for over 20 minutes for our orders to come out. I received my order and one of my colleagues received his order, but our other 2 colleagues did not.
My order had a few ingredients(namely jalapenos) missing and I was informed that they ran out of the missing ingredients when the order was delivered(not that this is a deal breaker by any means, just would have been nice to be informed at the time I ordered). Additionally, my order was not heated to the right temperature.
We waited an additional 15 minutes for our other colleague's meals(a few tacos, one burrito and some fries) to come out and the food never arrived, yet people who had ordered after us and were seated during our initial wait were receiving their orders. When my colleagues approached the counter to inquire about their orders, it was evident that their orders hadn't even been started, so my colleagues requested refunds. We were on a time limit because we were taking our 1 hour lunch break and had meetings scheduled for when we returned to the office, and at that point couldn't wait any longer or else we would be late for our meetings. Although they did receive their refund, they had to be persistent as the employee at the counter attempted to have their orders made then, which we couldn't wait for.
I can understand being short staffed due to employees calling out sick, but obviously there are issues at the management level if orders are flowing out of the kitchen without respect to the to order in which they were made. Additionally, if staple ingredients are running out during normal service, this also indicates poor planning at the management level. Again, I can understand running out of a few ingredients, but the fact that it was not communicated at the time of the order indicates to me that the back of the house staff isn't effectively communicating to the front of the house staff, which would additionally point to ineffective leadership.
Due to the above mentioned grievances, I can no longer recommend Gipsy Lime and I will no longer be patronizing this...
Read moreFirst time ever at this establishment keep that in mind. Dined in & ordered a bowl to go in which I didn’t look at my to go order immediately as I was eating my food. When I did look at it at approximately 11:11pm and it wasn’t rice in the bowl, the lady told me the kitchen was closed & said did you not look at it when u got it. First of all, if I order a separate order to go it should not have been brought out with the dine in order as it was to go & second of all, if I order something it should be prepared the way it was ordered. The bowls on the menu come with rice or lettuce so why wasn’t there rice in the bowl as the lady who took my order specifically asked if I wanted cilantro rice or Spanish rice. Is it the customers problem if the food wasn’t prepared accordingly? I think not. The fact that she was rude and disrespectful overrides the quality of the food. Who wants to dine at a restaurant in which the employee disrespects customers? Not me. Keep in mind they close at 12pm and I’d already tipped the incompetent girl. Also know that she brought the wrong nachos to the other person dining in with me. Then proceeds to try and convince us that the nachos were correct when, in fact, they were not. So I told them I’m leaving this review and they brought me the rice for the bowl. The rude girl at the register is very disrespectful and needs customer service training or go work in an industry that doesn’t involve people period. Also customers are steady coming in but the kitchen closed an hour early. At least 4 more cars pulled up, went in the restaurant, and came back out due to them closing early. The girl who is rude doesn’t need to represent this business. She’s a straight up mean girl and is the whole reason for this review. She needs help mentally bc she’s going to pick the wrong customer one day and get her arrogant little feelings hurt. There’s no other way to describe her. I really want my tip back. And the food was great, but that girl’s customer service was pathetic & messed up the whole experience. Oh and the margaritas were incorrect as well. Hire...
Read moreI placed an order on Foodsby (today); the same exact order that I placed Friday( minus the street corn) for a Steak burrito:
Burrito | Steak
$12.50
Hide Details
Charros Beans Pico de Gallo Shredded Cheese Roasted Corn Salsa Sour Cream $0.50
Street Corn $4.00
Salad House Ranch When I order this on Friday(8/24), it came with a Salad and ranch dressing as mentioned above. Well today, when I ordered the same burrito it did not come with a salad. I called to advised them my salad was missing, after placing me on hold for a long period, I was informed that my burrito did not come with a salad. I was told that I did not order a side salad so I did not get a salad. Well, the above says a salad, like it did Friday and I received one then, but no salad today. I believe they left off my salad and after I brought it to their attention instead of them admitting their mistake and fixing the issue they LIED and said my order did not come with a salad because did not want make another delivery on a mistake they made. I'm a person that eat at this place at least 3 times a week, but will not be returning as I do not want to spend my money with a company that makes up a lie to a customer instead of fixing their error. One...
