Extremely Disappointing First — and Last — Visit
We ordered from Burger Barn Grill for the first time and unfortunately, it will also be our last.
We placed an order for three burgers:
1 Bacon Cheeseburger (Mustard, ketchup, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, extra pickles) — This one was made perfectly. No complaints.
1 Bacon Cheeseburger (Mustard, ketchup, mayo, lettuce, tomato, extra pickles) — This one was missing bacon, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Not even the “extra pickles” were there. Major letdown.
1 Double Cheeseburger (Mustard, ketchup, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, add bacon) — This one was the worst. It was missing bacon, lettuce, tomato, and even one of the meat patties. Four items missing in total, as clearly shown in the photos we took.
We picked up our order and returned home only to discover these issues. My husband took the food back immediately, and we asked for a refund. The on-duty manager, Alyssa, said she couldn’t process a refund — only the General Manager, Bryan, could do that.
When we asked when Bryan would be in, she said he rarely comes to the store. She called him, and he said he would need to "check the cameras" to determine if we were lying about the missing items before issuing a refund. Completely inappropriate and unprofessional.
While we were there, we noticed three employees working:
One on the grill (who clearly didn’t add the bacon and one of the patties),
One in charge of toppings — she was watching a Netflix movie on her phone while working, which probably explains the missing ingredients,
One delivering food from the kitchen to the front.
There were only three customers dining in and two waiting for food — so this wasn’t a case of being overwhelmed. Just a lack of attention and pride in their work.
After we mentioned we would be leaving a review, we finally received an email confirming a refund. How convenient.
I almost didn’t write this review, but I realized it would be unfair to only share positive experiences and ignore ones where professionalism, quality, and customer care were completely lacking.
There are at least 20 other restaurants within a 5-mile radius. We’ll gladly take our business elsewhere, and I suggest others consider doing the same before...
Read moreWas looking for a new place to try while we were in the area after a doctor’s appt. Came across this place after seeing the raving yelp reviews.
Located within a strip mall with ample parking. As you enter it definitely has the Barn theme going on and was pleasantly decorated appropriately. I was surprised how huge it was inside and with the high ceilings. You approach a menu board and order at the counter and the food is brought out to you.
I tried a specialty burger called the Hangover burger and my wife tried the Black and Blue. With a large side order of onion rings and a special dipping sauce
Both burgers were cooked perfectly. My burger had bacon on it which actually overwhelmed the taste of the burger. The onion rings were recommended by the order taker when we asked for recommendations and they didn’t disappoint.
The seating inside is somewhat odd especially with a large section of empty space between tables. You could have dance off between the space. It wasn’t that busy when we came in and with the large open space I could see food under the tables on the opposite side. It was around 1:30 when we sat down so they had ample time to clean up between the waves of guests.
Other than that the burgers are still a great second option than your typical...
Read moreRead the reviews and was really looking forward to having a memorable burger... regretfully the results didn't meet our expectations. First the good 👍. New location right off Baymeadows with easy in and out as well as plenty of parking both regular and handicapped. Entry finds a clean but rather chilly area to place our order so 5 ⭐ so far. Now we come to the food. Ordered the Barn House Salad...more like a Barn Shed small with a few cucumbers, Romaine lettuce, carrot 🥕 strips with Blasamic dressing not much for $5.79 3 ⭐. Ordered the Pavilion Chicken Lemon Pepper out came a small bland chicken breast $8.49 on roll at best 3 ⭐. Bill ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger and Regular Fries. First where's the cheese? It was so thin you could barely see less taste it. Patty was tasteless and dry in need of some kind of seasoning when cooked 3 ⭐ for the burger $8.79 with fries that were very good 5 ⭐ for the fries. Strawberry milkshake was good but kinda small for $6.00 4 ⭐ . How do I rate Burger Barn vs. the competition? Over priced and underwhelming. Culver's gives you a better burger and Wendy's a better package for $5 than this...
