We went for our anniversary. I wanted Crab Legs as part of my all you can eat meal. The cost was $59.98. The Crab Legs were good, but the first plate I got were oversalted. The second plate was much better, and the size of the Crab legs was good. My husband didn't want Crab Legs, so his meal was $39.98. He enjoyed the Prime Rib and Lamb. And had several servings of both. He tried the Fried Oysters and said they were overcooked and dry, as were the Onion Rings he got.
As far as side dishes, the choices were very limited. They did have Fried Oysters, Oysters on the half shell and fried fish portions, Crab Salad, Strawberries and Bluberries, and several other Salads, but lacked a choices of hot vegetables. I have to say they had a beautiful array of desserts. The ones my husband and I had were delicious. Dessert, I would give a 10+.
Service was good. They came by every few minutes to retrieve empty plates.
We like sitting in a booth, but we're seated at a table in an area for people who didn't have reservations . There were plenty of seats available throughout the restaurant, so I would have preferred to sit in a booth, as my husbands hearing is not great, so our conversations were kept to a minimum.
The atmosphere was that of a restaurant inside a hotel. The 2 restrooms had facilities for men and women in each of them and weren't inviting at all. They didn't have a soap dispenser, so they had little open bars of soap like they would put in the rooms for guest laying by the sink in a puddle of water. I don't care to use a bar of soap that others have touched, so I just ran my hands under the water for a couple of minutes. The bathroom also didn't have paper towels available to dry your hands on, so I got several toilet seat covers and used those to dry my hands. I also used a toliet seat cover to open the door to get out of the restroom. On a scale of 1-10, the bathroom got a score of 1. They need to make some upgrades badly.
Since I love Crab Legs and can get all I want to eat on Friday and Saturday night, we'll probably return at some point in time. But this will not be in our rotation of restaurants we will frequent on a...
Read moreWe were extremely disappointed in this restaurant and won't be returning. The setting and serving staff were welcoming and attentive. The buffet looked interesting but when you actually began to go through it, there were very limited choices. There was one vegetable choice and about six items on the salad bar. Now certainly people do not go to the Crab Leg and Prime Rib buffet night for the vegetables, but sometimes you do have people with different tastes. The hot crab legs were not very flavorful so we were thinking the cold ones might have better flavor. They did not. The peel and eat shrimp also lacked flavor and were somewhat mushy. I could not finish mine and I'm a huge shrimp lover. Sadly, we both threw away food it was so unappetizing. The fried shrimp were much like you would get at a fast food seafood place. The dessert we tried was good. I guess the biggest problem with this place was it was sooooo expensive. $42 + a piece. Our tab with tip was more than it cost us to eat out twice last weekend. I should point out that the place was crowded with people filling up their plates repeatedly so they appeared to enjoy it. I do not recommend it and will...
Read moreI have to say this because although it is a decent establishment, the food is sub-par. I'm not sure about the dinner, but future diners beware the breakfast. The breakfast buffet is not that great. We arrived at 11:30 am.
The crab cake got a 4/5 from my dad so if you like those, then it might be worth the $16.95 for you. The omelet is okay but only because it's freshly prepared. No salt or pepper in it. You get a choice of cheese, bacon, onions, bell peppers, and spinach. Everything on the line looked old and crusty. Yes. Crusty. The cheese grits were "runny and terrible" my mom said. She did say the biscuit and fresh fruit were "okay". I wanted to try more stuff but it didn't look good at all and it looked like it was sitting out for a long time.
The self waffle maker is decent but they don't have real maple syrup. Just those fully hydrogenated corn syrup substitutes. They also have sugar free as well, but I don't know what's worse let's be honest. And also some spray that had weird ingredients in it.
Anyway, the staff is super nice and they really made sure we had everything we needed. I just wouldn't recommend going there for breakfast. Go to grumpys or metro...
