Yes, I'm that chick who was all set to get my healthy groove on this morning and headed down to the southbank Riverwalk to catch the sunrise... two rescue puppers in tow. Also yes, after just one hour of continuous exercise I trotted my bubble butt right into Good Dough after waiting about two minutes for them to open the damn door, lol! Put a doughnut in my face STAT yall! OMG! Trying so hard not to eat them all before 10am. Help me sweet little baby in the manger Jesus. 🙏 I'll try to give you some idea of the names in each pic, but they're just a ballpark translation of what I heard when my mouth was drooling as I gazed through to glass partition that kept me on my best behavior. Four doughnuts, $22 plus tip, fresh and hot right out of the oven, dripping in topping from the steamy heat. These people are doing the lord's work... and yes, I'm on a sugar high I hope will help me be inspired to put a dent in the dog hair that covers every room in my house. I'll pick my favorite when I come up for air soon! Enjoy your weekend, tip your service workers, and spoil your furkids. 😁😋😉 UPDATE!!!! The winner of best doughnut I inhaled today is the Apple Fritter Strudle thingy, in the first photo on the left! That homemade apple center is absolute heaven! Runner up was the conolli doughnut, first photo on the right. 😋 They were all fantastic, fresh and worth every calorie!

Can I give 6 stars? WOW! I went to Good Dough with the intention of getting dessert. Since it was lunchtime and I found myself suddenly famished, I thought I'd try a sandwich. I ordered the Fried Chicken Doughwhich. LOOK AT THIS SANDWICH! Since I hadn't read the description thoroughly (my bad), I was a little surprised when the fried chicken came out on a donut DRIPPING with heavenly glaze. Then I bit in. Oh my goodness. The fresh doughnut was perfect, and the sweet glaze melded perfectly with the fried-just-right chicken. The combination was absolutely delectable, and I may have moaned audibly. The only "downside" of this sandwich was that it was so filling, I didn't have room for dessert. (I had been warned of this.) I also ordered a shakerito, which was a perfect complement. All of this was ordered from a truly charming woman that genuinely seemed to love her work. I will definitely be back. I think I'll have to try everything on the lunch and dessert menus.

Ok so normally I don't review and rate donut shops. Today I must make an exception for Good Dough Donuts on HENDRICKS AVE. The shop is a cozy little place and if you don't pay attention you will pass it. With that said the unique flavor of the donuts and combinations of donut toppings this alone is worth the trip, or visit Town Center location. I was first peaked when I found out that two of my favorite flavors could be found on one donut, butterscotch and bacon, I had to check this out. Awesome combinations of flavor btw imho. They also have a Doughwich, sandwich in a donut, the chicken and the bacon egg and cheese are absolutely delicious. I have not tried the avocado one well in honesty avocado is not my favorite to start with. The staff were very friendly and I have nothing but high praise for the service. Definitely will be going back.

This was our favorite donut place and a Saturday Sunday tradition for a while but the past few months it has went downhill. The staff just doesn’t care anymore and is poorly trained and unfriendly which is a direct reflection of poor management/ownership. The quality of the doughnuts have went drastically downhill. Gas station doughnuts are sadly better than anything I’ve gotten from good dough in months. They never have doughnuts anymore (and no im not gonna preorder doughnuts days in advance. I liked walking in a shop by my house and buying fresh good doughnuts not leftover old stale poorly made doughnuts no one wanted). Until a few months ago this place was amazing and i brought touring bands from around the world in to show them the best of duval but this is no longer it and you have embarrassed me on 4 different occasions and I can’t keep making excuses for a poorly run business. I guess new owners have run this place into the ground? Thats what im hearing? Its not clean like it used to be. I doubt it will last much longer so Im just writing this review to say I miss Good Dough and the staff they had til a few months ago. That place was awesome. This place should be called Lame Dough. Its lame now and not even the ghost of the shell of what it once was. Its sad but nothing good lasts here in jax. For the former owners and staff thank you for being amazing. New owners. I don’t want your excuses and ill make sure no one I know steps foot in that place again. Ive given this place multiple chances to redeem themselves but I guess this is where we part ways. I can find a new place to take my guests and business associates that wont make me look bad like yall...

Today was my second time going to Good Dough, today was also my second bad experience there. The first time I went I ordered a doughnut (which was fine, nothing special) and an iced mocha. When I asked for an iced mocha the 3 employees behind the counter just looked at each other and asked each other "do we make mochas? Is that a thing" when it's literally on their menu and they have a giant super fancy espresso machine right there. So I literally had to tell them "just make a latte and put chocolate in it" and they were like "ooooohhh!" 🤦 The drink was terrible, I threw it away.

But wait, it gets worse! My husband pre-ordered 3 King Cake doughnuts 3-4 days ahead of time (which was over $10) and paid online for them. My husband being from Louisiana was EXTREMELY excited for these doughnuts. We go to pick up the doughnuts and there is an extremely long line and I hear the employees telling people that they're sold out of doughnuts. I wait anyways hoping that maybe since I've already ordered and paid, I can get the doughnuts we paid we. NOPE. We wait I'm line and they tell us we can either come back in 1-2 days or get a refund. I asked them why they would not have set my order aside seeing how I've already paid and pre-ordered. The man who seemed to be the manager said "we had a technical issue so we can't sell any of the doughnuts" - but I heard them tell other people that they were sold out. So 1 of the 2 stories were a lie. We got a refund and will not be back.

Sounds like extremely poor management and customer service to me 🤷

If you're going to have a big fancy professional manual espresso machine, y'all could AT LEAST know what a...

Long time customer, probably wont be back! I’ve been going here for years with my big family. The service has gone DOWN!!!!!!!!! It’s not out of the ordinary for my family to spend $75 on a Saturday donut stop. We also have brought our out of town friends on several occasions to enjoy these doughnuts after raving on them! Here lately the tall blonde lady with some (teal colored hair) has been there. She does NOT need to be interacting with customers AT ALL! She always acts as if you are taking too much of her time away, she acts as if you’re a bother to her! When you ask her a question, she typically is NOT helpful! She is not friendly, she doesn’t smile, she never offers a nice suggestion of any kind about any of the menu items!! She rushed my son who always gets excited about going here, (mind you no one was waiting) she was very short with our friends whom we brought in that were visiting from Georgia. Back in the day when I used to get great service, our donuts would be given to us on a stainless steel tray if we were eating in....We even had kind enough service to be offered a coffee or something. Here lately it has been this same lady and tge same terrible service! I think 3 strikes they're out!!! The chicken doughwich was half the size it has been in the past. I am not sure if it was just a small one that day or if the item has changed. Icing has been inconsistent, not as much icing as they used to put on them. it’s like they may have cut corners of cream cheese, butter something....very disappointed about our past couple...
