Food was okay but very small portions. Went on Valentine's Day and had a table reserved for two, they seated us at a table for four with another couple that were strangers (very nice people, but we weren't expecting to share a table on Valentine's, with a reservation). They informed us upon arrival that they were doing a special promotion for Valentine's and it was $65 per person for an appetizer, entree, dessert, and "all the champagne you can drink" but failed to mention until we were seated that it was a very limited menu and that it was the only way you were allowed to order. We were not able to order anything else from the regular menu, it was the promotion or nothing. They gave us three appetizers to choose from, about 5 entree options, and 1 dessert option. None of these options were what we were hoping to order before we arrived, but we tried it anyway. We had hummus and zaalouk for our appetizers and they were decent, but nothing to write home about. For entrees, you had the option of lamb shank, chicken or beef kabob, shrimp, salmon, or macaroni bechamel; we chose the beef kabob and macaroni. The beef kabob included 4 half-dollar-size pieces of beef that were mostly gristle, a few strips of bell pepper, three small pieces of broccoli, and some mushrooms. It also came with some rice that was brought out a few minutes after the rest. The flavor was not horrible but it wasn't impressive either. The macaroni was okay as well, but apparently didn't include the minced beef as the menu said it would because they made that their vegetarian option for the promotion. I finished my first glass of champagne by the time the entrees came out, was never offered a refill (not a big deal, and I'm sure they'd have given me one had I asked). While we ate we witnessed two separate tables get up and complain to the staff before walking out without finishing their meals. After we finished our entrees they brought out some comically small pieces of baklava (one piece per person) and it was pretty good but again, not what we would have ordered if given a choice. All in all, it was a disappointing experience and definitely not the romantic Valentine's dinner we expected. The restaurant is very small and doesn't look anything like what we saw on the website, we left feeling like we were ripped off and the other couple seated at the table with us felt the same. If it cost about a third of what we were charged it wouldn't have been so bad, but our experience was not worth the money at all. As much as we wanted to like this place, we couldn't...
Read moreI’ll start this off by saying the food was pretty good but the customer service was horrible. When we were first seated we had a great server who was super friendly and was quick, didn’t catch her name but she was probably in her early 20s. After we ordered our food, I’m guessing her shift ended and we got a new server. This server was impressively bad at her job it was almost historical. The food came out at a reasonable time but never saw her come back till we were completely done with our meal.(definitely would have been nice to check on how the food was and to refill our waters) While she was grabbing our plates we told her we were done eating for the night, instinctively we thought she would get the hint to bring the check. We were wrong. After waiting 30 mins of her sitting in the back and finally coming out hookah in hand chatting with another worker there she finally came over and when asked for the check. Then after waiting another 15 minutes she came back out of the back with no check in hand. I asked for the check and she said “oh I didn’t give it to you”. She came back out with a check which was the wrong check. At the point it was almost hilarious how bad this experience was. Full disclaimer we were the only people in the restaurant at the time for almost an hour. When she was bringing out the right check she decided to set up her phone at the bar to video tape us, not sure why she did that but I’d like to know why. So we paid and left. I guess they put the automatic 20% tip onto the bill because they know how bad their customer service is because she would have completely got $0 tip if I could have. I was reading some other reviews from the past week and noticed someone talking about a couple sitting at the bar harassing people and one of them may have worked there at a bartender or some sort. We were not harassed but sounding from the description I believe it was the same couple. They made the atmosphere very weird and awkward, the guy was kissing on the ladies check and neck and was massaging her. I don’t believe this is appropriate while you are on the clock or at your workplace. Hopefully the owner will see this and respond back. 10/10 recommend...
Read moreUpdate: I appreciate the owner's response, but I must respectfully disagree with their assessment. My review was based on my personal experience and unfortunately, it did not meet the standards of professionalism, customer service, and hospitality that I expect from a dining establishment.
While I understand the owner's desire to defend the restaurant, resorting to questioning my intentions and suggesting I'm promoting another establishment is not professional. As a customer, I have the right to share my honest feedback, regardless of whether it aligns with their perspective.
Regarding the specifics of my review, I stand by my comments. Whether it's called Sriracha or Harissa, the issue I highlighted was the lack of attention to detail and authenticity in the flavors of the dishes served. Additionally, my mention of Costco was simply to convey the impression that the quality of the ingredients did not meet my expectations for a restaurant of the 'so called' reputation.
It's commendable that you have garnered many positive reviews over the years, but that does not invalidate the negative experiences of individual customers. Instead of dismissing feedback that may be critical, I urge you to consider it as an opportunity for improvement.
Original review: This place according to me a NEVER VISITING AGAIN. We went on Wednesday night for dinner. Drinks took about 40 mins even though it was just the 4 of us in the entire place. Appetizers we ordered two and the server forgot one. Main dishes - probably Costco premade food, just decorated and reheated. I took the chicken kabob it came with store bought spicy sriracha Mayo on the side. The service was terribly slow, food over priced, no value for money. Please save your coin and go elsewhere if you are craving middle eastern food. Even a middle eastern chain like Tazikis does it way better. I generally don’t have this bad things to say about any restaurant but out beat all of them. Oh for that service!! It’s a 20% service fee on...
