We came in last night around 9:30 and only noticed as we walked in that they were closing soon. When we walked in we asked if they closed at 10 and said we could go somewhere else and didn’t wanna inconvenience them. Dylan at the front said, “no no we’ll sit you” and word for word said, “we’ll stay open for you” and said like three other times that we were good to eat there. We really wanted to leave because we know what it’s like when people come too late with a group as big as ours (9 except 2 of us didn’t even eat). We went to the back and sat down and immediately could sense that we were being rushed as he sorta snapped at my sister to choose what she wanted to drink. Whatever- water under the bridge. We then had a decent time as we were scanning the menu and chatting amongst ourselves. When the drinks came out, the beer was warm (which we didn’t say anything about because they were already being generous and letting us eat there). We ordered and everything was fine. We got our food and the swamp fries were cold (again didn’t complain or ask for new fries) and when he (Dylan) asked what beans we wanted for our soup of some sort, we said “Is it harder or more difficult to do white?” And he replied, “I mean it’s taking a long time to come out anyways” and I said, “If it’s easier to do red then red. Just whatever is fastest and easiest for you”. The whole thing just made us feel like we were an inconvenience even though we tried to go somewhere else initially. The shrimp and grits were NOT $20 worth and the only good thing I have to say about this experience was that the food that came warm, was good. As we were eating (a solid 5 minutes of eating) he came out and said, “Hey are you guys trying to get out of here?” (immediately looked at our watch and it was 10:06 on the dot) while my sister and her friend were in the middle of eating as fast as they could to get out. My brother-in-laws then were handing him their cards as we asked, “cash or card?” And they said, “Card. Do you want it now?” To which Dylan replied, “I mean I’m trying to sweep and get out of here” Everything I’m writing just seems like I’m being dramatic, but it’s the tone he used and how it was only 6 minutes after closing and we were being kicked out the door. I get it, we came in late, but we TRIED to leave. We’re young people. We don’t like to inconvenience workers in any way. I don’t wanna hurt the business but this needs to be discussed.

The food was good (assuming you don’t go right before closing) and the atmosphere was great when you were ignoring the glares from employees. Just ask for Sarah and you’ll be set. I’ve been during the day and it was a...

This place is a joke! Overpriced and overrated!

First off... I understand completely that takeout time frames are not always accurate due to the amount of takeout orders + customers dining inside, but to wait an hour on cold food + not so good tasting food + missing food is NEVER ideal, especially when the online order stated "25 minutes!" We showed up at the restaurant 29 minutes after placing the order. We were told it was not ready yet, so we drove around for another 10 minutes. My husband goes back inside and does not come back out for another 20 minutes!

My husband placed an order for 2 pounds of crawfish, 1 Shrimp & Grits, and 1 Bananas Fosters dessert. The crawfish was very much warm, but tough. The dessert saved the day even though it was just liquid with 3 pieces of TINYYY bananas and some ice cream, and as far as my food? LMAO!! My grits were nothing but a small hard-ish block (smaller than my hand even though it is hard to tell by my photo), and the sauce was nothing but a small portion of sauce in a cup the size of my palm and literally a few pieces of shrimp for right at $20! I did not receive my complimentary salad or bread, so I basically paid for a child size meal that was cold, somewhat hard, and okay tasting!!! 3 items cost us right at $50 after tax! I have had more and better quality seafood from Portobello's in JC!

I understand things happen and how easy it is to forget something as simple as a piece of bread. That is whatever. My issue is not even with the missing items, even though I mentioned it. I just can't believe they thought that what they sent out was acceptable and fair to the customer. We even had to go purchase utensils and grab some extra food from Fazoli's just to make up for the lack of what we received. We live in NC, so it is not as if we could run back to our house and easily warm the food up!

This was our third attempt at trying this place, but after the first time and this go around, we just can't justify paying good money for the experiences we have had. This place...

This is my 2cd review of this place. The first was about the gumbo but will not get into that now. Born and raised in South Louisiana and travel all over the country for work. I love finding restaurants that advertise Cajun food. I can, at times, be overly critical when it comes to my cultures food. Any true coona-- would be. This place has Cajun all over the it. Down to pre-made roux. So I ordered the crawfish etouffee, one of my personal favorites, off the menu. It came with a nice size portion BUT I noticed one small exception, the crawfish. I will post a picture and allow anyone to zoom in and see if you can locate 4. OK, let's see if the taste can compensate for the lack of the main ingredient? Sorry to say the answer is NO. It was exactly spaghetti sauce. It might have been OK for an Italian restaurant but not an advertised Cajun restaurant. I was only able to take two bites before I asked the sweet lil waitress if she had brought me the wrong dish. Poor lil girl was super apologetic and asked if she wanted me to take it off my bill. Told her that it would be nice being as I wasn't going to eat it. I then asked if I could order another item to go. I ordered the large Red Beans and rice. She brought it in a brown paper bag and handed me a bill for $12.06. I tipped the waitress $5 for being so apologetic as it wasn't her fault. I paid and went directly back to my hotel room and removed the contents of that bag. Picture with the LARGE red beans and rice next to my to-go drink. You decide for yourself on that one. The red beans were outstanding, but everything tastes great when you are as hungry as I was leaving this place. So far, none of the seafood items are anything to go out of your way, ESPECIALLY the etouffee. Stick with the red...

Love this restaurant, we went for the first time and will definitely be coming back. The atmosphere and delicious food had us feeling like we were in the Big Easy. As appetizers we started with the Swamp Fries and Fried Green Tomatoes in a Crab & Shrimp Cream Sauce; the fries smothered in roast beef and rich cheese could have been a meal in itself as could the generous portion of green tomatoes which were fried to perfection and the crab & shrimp cream sauce just took them over the top. Our entree choices were Crawfish Etouffee & Shrimp & Grits, the Etouffee was filled with tender crawfish and spiced just right and my husband cleaned his bowl with his bread it was so good. The grits were delicious fried squares topped with plump shrimp and a delicate cream sauce, I had enough to take some home. Our dessert was Beignets, so good with a mound of confectionery sugar...took us back to Cafe Du Monde. The service was excellent and our waitress was so friendly and attentive and the owner stopped by our table to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this establishment to anyone that loves fresh seafood and Southern cooking.
