Extremely disappointed. Was so looking forward to an actual quality sit down restaurant in Kellogg. I'll start with the good.... The remodel is great, the atmosphere is great, the location is great, they had several very decent wines to choose from, which is HUGE for this town. The manager was very kind and knew how to rectify a very horrible dining experience. Now the bad... The steaks (exactly what I expected) very thinly cut, and although we ordered medium rare, came out well done. The baked potatoes were served "naked". (We were told the server was supposed to have asked if we wanted anything on them and because she didn't, they came out naked.) The vegetable side, was, well, just gross. Some corn, peppers and zucchini bits, with no seasoning, most likely out of a can.... The salad bar is a GREAT idea, however, you must have someone in charge of it, keeping it clean, tidy and most importantly full and well stocked!! A better variety of toppings would be good. All of this aside, the worst part was two guests at our table never received their dinners!! After our server took our orders, and frenzy of 2-3 other young people showed up with the food about 20 minutes later passed it all out (naked potatoes and all) around the table and disappeared. Two people received nothing. We never saw our original server again. About 20 minutes went by before one of the people (starving) got up to inquire.. turns out one order had been sitting in the window ready that whole time and the other order had been missed, altogether. Overall my advice would be. If you are going to charge $37 for a steak, it better be worth it. If you are going to have a salad bar, have a designated "tender". If you don't have the staff to give each table personal service, don't fill every table. Training classes for servers, mostly CUSTOMER SERVICE. We want to see this restaurant succeed. We need this restaurant in our town. Get it together...
Read moreFirst time in Kellog visiting Silver Mountain and decided to go find breakfast. The Broken Wheel looked like a good option. We go in and it looked clean and like a nice small town restaurant. We sit down and the waitress brings our menus and gets us settled and takes our order. There were 3 tables with people. There were two cooks and one waitress. It took over an hour to get our food. The food was awful. I got a breakfast bowl with biscuit sausage bacon eggs and gravy. It tasted like they had dumped all of the grease from sausage and bacon into the bowl. My girlfriend got french toast with bacon. She got one piece of bacon that had been ripped in half. Our son got 2 pieces of bacon.Once out son and I got our food the waitress ( who was doing a great job despite the cooks) had to keep coming back and telling her they were just waiting on the bacon. Bacon doesn't take over an hour to cook. The French toast was burnt and the bacon was chard with uncooked fat on it. Not sure how they did that, but it was bad. We got a to go box to give some of it to my dog so it wasn't a complete waste. The cooks looked like they just rolled out of bed and were still in pajamas. As we were leaving the cooks told the waitress they were out of eggs. No eggs on a Saturday morning what 9 am. I gueee the locals know to stay away. I would not recommend breakfast...
