On behalf of myself and three friends traveling together, i am pleased to give our highest FIVE STAR recommendation to The Cafe Viento, located at 316 Petronia St, a 5 minute walk from our Marriott LaConcha Hotel.
This new, spacious and fun cafe is exactly what we were looking for, to be comfortably seated together as a perfect, fresh option to the cluttered restaurants nearby which are basically all the same.
Owner, Jeannie, met us as we entered, arms full of some very delicious looking breakfast plates. Soon we were enjoying a rich cup of coffee, looking over some very creative breakfast ideas - eggs, omelettes, waffles, avocado toast...
The menu continued with great lunch ideas - Philadelphia cheesesteak, some pastry ideas..
Our friend, Joe traveling with us, is a lifetime restauranteur. After the presentation of our plates (and a few bites into it), he said, "Oh ! This place will do well.") I've actually never heard him say that before.
I am certain he is right. This unassuming little spot turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. A very nice surprise. Total fun, and exactly what you will find if you like to comfortably sit with friends and enjoy a perfectly prepared meal. sounds good, right?
No hype, no hustle, no jistke/jostle, no noise. Just a really nice time at a very reasonable price.
We will be back, as I am certain you will be, once you have discovered it as we...

It's new so it doesn't show up to check in. So freaking good. Highly recommend. I'm happy the first place we went to had a 90 minute wait time. We got a churro coffee, a vanilla latte, bloody Mary each, a Philly cheese on a waffle (amazing), and summer in key West (eggs your way, roasted ham, sweet potato home fries).
Homemade bloody Mary mix that the owner (Jeanie) put together. Just enough spiciness. Just right. They have options to perk up the spice if you wish.
Great staff. Can't say enough good stuff. Must try
Update: We attempted to come on Wednesday. We got there right at 8A.M. (March 26, 2025) and we waited until 8:20A.M. then headed somewhere else. We were looking forward to the same great service and food we got a couple days ago. It's a shame we couldn't.
I called back later and found out their cook doesn't get there until 9-930. So if you are wanting to eat early call first. But they have coffee and drinks too start with at opening. They will eventually get busy enough to serve food early. I have full faith this place will flourish. We will visit next time we are here.
Please support a local trying to grow her business. It's an...
