I will start with the good news about recent visit last Saturday. The Bloody Mary's are excellent and a great value. We had the Pesto Melt and the Mamma Mia and they tasted very good. That is where the good news ends.

On our prior visit we had a female server who was attentive and knowledgeable. She got a very large tip. This past visit not so much. Our server was very nice but he was not a good server for the following reasons.

He was spending lots of time doing other things than attending to tables; like break down outdoor patio.

He told us the sides and it was all potatoes; we asked if we could sub a salad. And he asked what dressings. For the cost, salad may rank among the worst I have been served at a comparable eatery. It was served on a six-inch plate with 8-10 pieces of romaine lettuce tips (whole), there was a teaspoon of diced onions and tomatoes, and a cucumber cut in half. Difficult to eat and totally overpriced. I always take pictures of food when dining out and wish I had taken one of that paltry side salad.

We asked for those salads ahead of our sandwiches and waited and waited and had to flag down a different server to get our salads. It turned out it would have probably happened because we did not get our first sandwich until a 30 minute wait -- and the dining room as about 20% filled so why the wait.

Then we waited and waited and waited for our pesto melt, the server finally came over and said "there was a mix-up in the kitchen" which means he did not place our order same time with other sandwich.

And like many restaurants in town, the acoustics are terrible. It is like being back in my high school cafeteria. Not pleasant on the ears.

So when we got our bill we saw that the salad was $4, not $3.50. There was the $.75 upcharge for blue cheese dressing. I told the server we should have been told these things when placing our order. To his credit, and based on the long wait for the pesto sandwich, he took half off the price of sandwich and took off the blue cheese dressing. He got a good tip but nowhere near the one the server the previous visit got.

Bottom line. There are many places to eat in Lafayette and will probably not return to LBK. Some advice; train your servers on how to take and place orders with the kitchen. If doing a side salad for $4 make it look like it is worth the price; it is not. And charging for dressings? Who does that in town? Salads come with salad dressing and should not be an upcharge, or at least...

The only reason I’m giving this review 2 stars is because I have been here once before and thought it was ok. Tonight we showed up a little after 5:00pm. We were seated right away and drink order taken. Ordered appetizers while still looking over the menu to decide on mains. Kids eat free on Sundays, which we thought was great. After waiting an hour, the manager came over and apologized that there was a system glitch and they lost our order. They were going to put our order in ahead of the others and it would be right out, and they were going to discount our orders. We saw three or four other tables get their food before our waitress came back out and said our food would be out soon. We asked them to verify that because it was getting close to 7:00 and we had a nearly one and a half hour drive home. It was about 10 minutes later and our food finally came out. They did forget my daughter’s meal and had to go back to the kitchen and make it real quick. We ate as fast as we could and asked for our bill right away so we could leave as soon as we were done. While looking at the bill, they discounted our meal by 24%, but did end up charging us for the kids’ meals. So they had to go back and fix that as well. We also heard the table next to us had an order that was wrong and someone was missing their meal. This may have been a one off, but I have read similar reviews before posting this one. I’d only eaten here twice in the last 10 years, but others in my party have eaten frequently and said that they...

I’ve been here many times before, and although I’ve never had a great experience, it was never this bad. We had a party of 7, so I asked if there was a wait, the hostess told me there was not and we could be sat in a couple of minutes. Fifteen minutes later we finally sat down. We start with ordering drinks/appetizers, and our waters did not arrive for another 15 minutes, then the beer got to us 5 minutes later. At this point we ordered our dinners. An hour and a half later, we still have no appetizers, no dinners, no refills on our drinks, and we had not even seen our server again. We go find him, and he tells us our food will be out in 2-4 minutes. 10 minutes later it arrives, cold. In their defense, they were understaffed, with only 2 servers and I saw the hostess running most of the food. However, another group of 7 that was seated moments before us in the front of the restaurant (we were in the back) had received, eaten, and paid for there food by the time our cold food came out, and they had the same server. So he seemingly forgot about us. They were nice enough to let us take our food home and comped our dinners. But we never did receive...

It’s a staple that’s been around the Lafayette area for a long time. Great place for a drink but can be hit or miss for the food. I’ve been and had the steak quesadilla and it was healthy chunks of steak and I’ve been other times and the food is lukewarm and so-so. The service is also very very hit or miss. We went recently and there was an hour wait. Then when we finally got our table they seated 7 of us around a round table designed for 4-5 people max. Then after 45 min of waiting for a server, we got told they were shutting down the kitchen and could only place a to-go order. Well we shouldn’t have waited 45 min. But they did discount the order and that was really appreciated. But there are other times we’ve gone and the service is amazing! If they could be more consistent, that would be great!

Went here recently with my wife. Experience was fantastic! Service was prompt, even on a busy evening. Facility was clean. Our server was great and made sure we were taken care of. I had a couple of Star City Lagers and they were good as hell! I had a Midwestern Burger and added a slice of Ghost Pepper Jack. It was great!!! Wife had some chicken thing, don't remember what it was called, but she enjoyed her meal, too. We will be coming back as long as we live here! Been back several times since my review. The Crawler/Growler deals throughout the week are fantastic!! Local brew is bomb!

Update: they took the BBQ chicken nachos off the menu and that's the only thing I EVER ordered. Please being back the nachos soon. Fabulous as usual. Great food. Wish it were a little cleaner in the dining area, but it's fine. I went on a Tuesday and it was very empty but they say a 5 ppl table next to us with an almost empty dining room. I get the server is in sections but when it's slow don't sit a bunch of ppl next to a table with an empty dining room. It's just thoughtless. Great food and the server was great.
