If you wonder why the parking lot of the Ram in Lakewood is so empty, it might be because of the poor management.

We have been to the Ram many times. Most often, we go for the fish and chips because it's really good. The service is usually pretty good, as well as the price. But tonight, I ordered the special with fish and chips (2 pieces), and my partner ordered the full fish and chips (3 pieces). When the food arrived, his pieces were very small compared to mine. He was eating his fries first, but I kept looking at it. He felt like he was getting less than we paid for. Then he broke it open only to find that he had gotten chicken--not fish. We got the servers' attention, and she said she would fix it. A minute later, she came back to tell us that she had to take it back to the kitchen unless we wanted to pay for the chicken. (NOTE that the fries were in the same basket being taken.)

So she takes his food, leaving him with nothing while waiting for the correct order. It looks and feels like a punishment for their mistake. She apologizes profusely, and because my partner can see to the kitchen, he realizes this was the manager's direction. But the manager forced the server to do his dirty work.

I was embarrassed for him being treated that way, and we felt awful that the server was being treated that way, knowing that it could have also affected her income, too. The entire time we were waiting, this manager kept glaring at our table. He never came over and apologized, we didn't get a discount, and there wasn't even an offer of a free dessert to comp us for the inconvenience.

People make mistakes, and we understand that. I'm not angry about the mistake but about how it was handled by the manager. I know times are hard, and I know some people take advantage of generosity. However, my mom owned a restaurant, and I also know how little the Ram would've lost simply being kind and gracious--how little in comparison to the lost business if they continue to treat customers so poorly.
