We are patrons of the former location at Sky Canyon. Today was our first time visiting the Summerlin location where the Sky Canyon location supposedly moved to.
Food tasted fine. We do recommend they put a little bit more soy sauce when they fry the pork fried rice. It used to be less dry before.
Our wait time at this new location was a little longer than normal, and we were surprised that the food was not carried to the table the way it used to be at Sky Canyon, especially when we did leave a tip.
We also remember Fountain water at the former location being offered to us, which is what we thought we got this time and then we later looked at the receipt and realized that we had purchased 4 bottled waters. So it would’ve been helpful for the counter person to tell us fountain water was not available abd that we would have to pay for bottled water.
Extra paper plates were not available for a family of four so they gave us an extra to go box which was reasonable.
The seating at the new location is not suitable for larger parties. We were four people so we had to split two tables that held two people each.
We miss Rai from the old location. We were told that they were working here so that’s why we came.
All in all, we enjoyed our visit and they checked on us several times to see if we were OK. I guess we just were used to a certain experience that wasn’t fully...
Read moreThis place was pretty empty when we came. Even more disappointed that the website did not reflect their current menu. Everything I was looking to get was no longer available, such as: Portuguese sausage, monstah loco moco, no mini plates, and no dessert, to name a few. The lady that took my order wasn't that helpful, which made the experience more frustrating. Everything I asked was no. Finally, after a while, she was like, the menu changed after covid. They don't give change for $100 bills even if I spent $40+ because they've had fake $100 bills. After she took my order she went to go cupcake with her boyfriend in the corner. The food came out super fast, which couldn't help me wonder if it was pre-made like Panda Express.
I ordered:
Mix combo (furikake chicken & hawaiian roast pork): Furikake tasted pre-made and was soggy, not crunchy. Hawaiian roast pork wasn't bad. It tasted like a lechon kawali with no skin and gravy on top. Mac salad was a little too sweet.
Loco moco : First, I've had that's all rice with no mac salad. The hamburger patty was well seasone with the gravy. It was just a little too salty for my liking.
The food was alright. To be honest had I known about these changes to the menu. I wouldn't have come. Also, discrepancy in hours? Temporarily closed? You gotta get your...
Read moreTried using contact us to handle my feedback privately but since no response from owner or management, here's my review of last week's takeout. We've been loyal customers since this location opened after our fave Vietnamese pho place closed across street. Best bento of all Hawaiian restaurants in Vegas and kalbi was the new Vegas standard until price point went through roof. I believe Kahele was the mgr. Our wknd choice. Last eknd ordered Friday laulau special and my wife's fave furikake chicken. Laulau used to be so fresh taro leaf was green. Last wknd was black over frozen dried out and plain no ono. Furikake chicken was soggy and soaked with oily sauce that oven could not fix. No utensils. One of the worst if not the worst experience so back to ultra consistent and moderately priced Ross Js Aloha Grill. Their quality control/assurance is 100 as whether you eat in Henderson location or The Cal, you get reasonably priced quality Hawaiian style plates with their brand of Aloha. Sorry Island Flavor we not excited about continuing our patronage if your QA/QC is lacking especially at your price points. All this downhill pattern after 2nd owner. Don't know when we'll try again esp since I've collected quite a bunch of promotional credits for food discounts but no way I'm having plates that we had...
