Listen, Lincoln doesn't have many options for GOOD Indian food.
The best part of Aroma? The FLAVOR of the food. The portions are small at best- very close to medium. My "go- to" is the chicken tikka marsala which is identical to butter chicken at other places. My second favorite is Tandoori chicken. Although Aroma has raised their prices to reflect economic change their portions are still small as previously mentioned. The chicken masala barely fills up a 16 oz plastic container, it's mostly sauce and MAYBE...AT BEST 1/4 of a chicken breast and thats me being generous.
The Tandoori chicken is flavorful, however small. I'm not sure who they use as their supplier but I would equate it to a half order of chicken wings from KFC...again, at best.
Their white rice is also disappointing. It's not fresh, nor flavorful. The garlic Naan is flavorful and "baked" well, however not made fresh and definitely came from a freezer. If not for convenience I could buy a pack at Suji's grocery for cheaper and fresh tasting.
The inside of the restaurant is dim and poorly lit. The staff is...
Read moreHeads up pre-cursor for never eaten Indian food, most Indian food doesn't look appealing, but has fantastic flavors. I ordered Lamb Kadai Gohst and Mulligatawny soup for a carryout lunch for a grand total of $25.00 and change. Previous reviews are correct in that the portion sizes are tiny. I got a full pint container of rice, a full pint of the lamb and a half pint of the soup (a hair above halfway filled). The lamb was super delicious and although there wasn't a lot of substance in it, I would order it again.... somewhere else. I hadn't ever had the soup anywhere before and I won't order it again. The rice was perfectly done and complimented the lamb very nicely. I was not impressed with the condition of the inside of this place. It didn't look clean. I didn't visit it, but I would check out the condition of the restrooms before...
Read moreI'll save you some time: don't order here. Looking past the small portions, the food just isn't good.
We ordered the spinach paneer, chicken vindaloo, garlic Naan, and kashmiri Naan.
The chicken vindaloo had a grand total of 8 pieces of bite sized chicken. I've never seen such stinginess, especially for the steep price. I'd overlook it if it was actually good, but the sauce tastes like spicy marinara. Spicy as in hot, not as in seasoned well.
The garlic Naan smelled like garlic and tasted like nothing. It was weird. Kashmiri Naan was simply okay, but not special.
Spinach paneer was good, but I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had.
For nearly 50 bucks worth of food for two people we didn't really have leftovers. Not that we wanted any...
In short, order from literally anywhere else. Or shoot, get a...
