We wanted to give this place a shot due to the high Google ratings. We did not like the service and the overall attitude. We felt under pressure for ordering more food and the waiter kept asking if we were done. The food was ok (that’s why I am giving two stars) despite very small portion sizes. Not on my favorites list.
Edited on 1/13/20 in response to the owner’s unprofessional reply. I had to change it to one star because zero is not possible.
Facts in exchange for your claims
(1) Not every negative review comes from your competitors. We came last night as a family to eat dinner and we simply were not happy with the service/attitude. Time to wake up from your delusional world of competitiveness. (2) Attached receipt shows what we ordered and paid for, so, stop lying. That’s exactly what you should avoid if you want to earn anyone’s trust. (3) Your response proves my point that the waitress insisted on selling more food and made us uncomfortable. You can’t dictate what I want to order and eat. (4) We never ordered small soup or small salad. The “small” is due to your small portion sizes as I described in the review. (5) We only spoke with a female, besides asking a gentleman for a straw. I am not sure who you are referring to as “he”. (6) Despite the bad experience, I paid $80 including about 13% tip.
Opinion/Suggestion: If you want to make things right, stop being defensive and take some responsibility.
Note: Since my photo of the receipt does not show up here for some reason, here is the list of things I ordered. This serves as proof that they lied claiming we only ordered two “small” soups and a “small” salad. 1 Chicken fingers ($6.95), 2 burgers ($21.90), 1 Sheppard salad &cheese ($11.95), 1 baba ghanoush ($6.95), 2 soup du jour ($9.90), 2 ayrans ($4.00), 1 juice ($2.50), 1 salgam ($2.00). Subtotal: $66.15, total with tax: $70.53. I won’t let them hide facts from the public.
Note (1/16/20): I checked to see if they responded to my fact-based review and realized that they deleted their original response and replaced it with a generic message below (Which I think may change any minute). They can’t stand behind their words. Sad. Stay away. Note (1/19/20): Ok, share your original response (it started as shown in the image attached) then. The one that claimed our visit was premeditated, that we only ordered a small soup and salad on a “busy” Sunday. Share that response so we believe you. Also explain why you had...
Read moreI was trying to find a restaurant with outdoor seating after shopping at Willowbrook Mall and found this restaurant. This was my first time dining outdoors since COVID-19 quarantine began and I was not disappointed. We started with an order of Baba Ghanuosh that was served with bread, of course. So good! You could definitely taste the smokiness of this eggplant appetizer. For my entrée I ordered the Cappadocia Combination Plate. Three different preparations of lamb, Adana, Shish Kebab and Kofte, as well as Chicken Kebab was presented on the plate. What I loved about the dish was the distinct flavor profiles of each lamb preperation. Delicious! I loved that even though I had lamb on the plate thrice, I was able to enjoy each one uniquely. My wife ordered the Chicken Kebab, which I had on my plate as well so I won't go into detail with that, but just as good. I will say, though, she was looking for a beef entrée and sadly for her, they did not have one, so she settled on the chicken. The accompanying rice with both dishes was tasty too. I would eat here again and recommend it as well, but would like to see a beef entrée on the menu in the future just to round out the...
Read moreMy wife and I had the good fortune to dine at Cappadocia yesterday evening on the advice of several friends who are regulars. The outside is deceptive as it looks small; however, the interior is lovely , open and airy with brick walls and nice decorations. More importantly, the food and service is excellent. We have dined at many Turkish restaurants in the area and our dishes were exemplary. We both started with the Ezogelin lentil soup with the right amount of spices accompanies by warm bread. My wife had the liver with lebne and she liked it so much, she asked about the preparation. I had the Adana kebab which was a healthy portion with rice and salad on the side. The homemade kazandibi dessert was sublime, not too sweet and just the right consistency, which went well with the Turkish tea. The owner, Metin, checked in on us during our meal and judging by the other happy diners while we were there, I am not surprised the restaurant has been in business for the past eight years and has such dedicated repeat guests. Parking in the back is very convenient as well. We will definitely be back and recommend...
