Review of Father and Son Seafood, Lorton:
Title: "A Culinary Treasure in Lorton – Father and Son Seafood"
From the moment I stepped into Father and Son Seafood in Lorton, I knew I was in for a special dining experience. This family-owned gem combines the warmth of a neighborhood eatery with the sophistication of fine dining, striking a perfect balance that appeals to a broad range of seafood enthusiasts.
The star of the menu, and my personal favorite, is their Clam Strip Platter with Hush Puppies. Each clam strip is cooked to perfection – golden, crispy on the outside, yet tender and juicy within. The balance of flavors is remarkable, capturing the essence of the sea without overpowering the delicate taste of the clams. Accompanying these delightful strips are the hush puppies, a Southern classic done right. They are light, fluffy, and subtly seasoned, making them the perfect complement to the clam strips.
What elevates the dining experience at Father and Son Seafood is the excellent service. The staff exudes a kind of friendliness and professionalism that's increasingly rare. They are knowledgeable about the menu, attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely seem to take pride in ensuring every guest has a memorable experience.
The ambiance of the restaurant contributes to its charm. It's cozy and inviting, with nautical decor that's tasteful and understated. Whether you're there for a casual lunch or a special dinner, the setting is just right.
In conclusion, Father and Son Seafood is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary destination. The Clam Strip Platter with Hush Puppies is a must-try, and the overall excellence of food and service makes it a standout in the Lorton area. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is well...
Read moreI had a terrible experience here. I usually try to support small businesses but I will not support this place anymore. I placed my to go order over the phone. I go in to pay and I told, who I believe to be the son, what my order was. I asked for extra sauce and told him that the cost could be added if they charged for extra sauce (because I was unaware if they charged for this) so he goes on to say these exact words "hmmmm yea I will charge you." I was confused as to what he needed to think about so I asked "do you usually change?" He explains that they choose who they charge. I was so shocked to even hear him say that to a customer. I explained that it is considered discrimination and that at the very least he shouldn't say that to a customer. He said "I'm just telling you how it is and it just depends." Needless to say I will never give them my...
Read moreThis is more of a take out place than a sit down restaurant. The only chairs I saw are for waiting for your orders. The people are very friendly. I ordered the bulgogi dinner. It was delicious! It came with greens and kimchi which were just as delicious. My wife had the streamed fish, scallops and shrimp dinner with a side of hush puppies. The fish and scallops were perfect in every way. However I the pieces of shrimp were small in size and number. I also would have enjoyed more of an ole bay type seasoning on them as well. The hush puppies were also small to my liking but very flavorable. This is a place I order take out from, at lease once, whenever I'm in the Lorton area and will continue to visit. Also don't forget to ask for your utensils because I've never had them put...
