IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR GOOD FRESH FOOD, DO NOT STOP AT EL TAQUITO!! I stopped in today and I literally took my food to go, sat in my car outside, took a look and threw it away. I have come here for years, do not go very often. It is in my neighborhood and I needed a quick easy bite. And I hate fast food. So I stopped here. Instead of sitting and waiting for my food, for some reason I found myself standing and checking out what the cooks were doing. I noticed one of the guys taking something out of the microwave... I thought that was weird. Food from a restaurant should be fresh, not microwaved. Then I noticed him put it in a box and bag it. It was my order, an old microwaved chile relleno. First off, I came here to avoid fast food. Second, I myself do not even own a microwave because I believe microwaved food is not good for your health!! And third, he did all of this with no gloves on! I saw him dip his hands into what must have been their pre cut lettace and tomato and put it on top of my chile relleno. "State law does not require gloves to be worn, but does require that ready-to-eat food be prepared and served without bare hand contact. Wearing disposable sanitary gloves is one of several acceptable ways to comply with this law." I looked at my food and almost went back in to get my money back, but I didn't want to be that person, so it is currently sitting in the trash can outside the restaurant. Untouched by me, but touched by them and gross and soggy from...
Read moreThis is a little family run place with great food. I have been coming here for a couple of years now and I am never disappointed. I have had most of the tacos which are all excellent. Not too greasy and the flavors are on point. The fish tacos are lightly breaded with just enough seasoning and crispy. Not to be missed are the Chile verde fries and the Birria. The Chile verde is spicy with plenty of flavor. When added to fries with frijoles, cheese and crème, it is the food is the gods. The Birria is not greasy and the flavor is probably the best I have tasted. Don’t forget the pozole. It’s just yummy. The atmosphere is a fast food one but very clean and well kept. You have to try this place it’s one of the best in LA. I drive from Pasadena...
Read moreAll I need to know is if they changed cooks???This was my go to spot but the food has changed a bit. I noticed they are getting tight with the portions and not as tasty as before. Chicken is not cooked long enough which has made me sick. I used to always rave about their nachos so one day a co worker and I ended up there at the same time. Of course, we both ordered nachos to go. When I got home and opened up the container and I was so embarrassed. There was hardly any beans or meat on them. Nothing like before!! Needless to say, I apologized to my co worker because I was always raving about the nachos then she gets these naked nachos like mine. Hardly no beans or meat. Please go back to the way things...
