Nestled amidst the unassuming streets of Koreatown, a culinary gem awaits. Forget the grand facades and trendy interiors - this is a hole-in-the-wall haven, radiating pure, unadulterated flavor. Imagine a cozy space, no bigger than 1000 square feet, where an open kitchen throbs with energy. Just one server and two dedicated cooks orchestrate a symphony of sizzling meats and bubbling stews, their passion evident in every dish. Here, Korean BBQ transcends mere sustenance. It's an experience that ignites the soul. The star of the show is undoubtedly the pork, each morsel grilled to perfection, boasting a symphony of textures - a crisp char yielding to melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, bursting with smoky, savory goodness. Every bite transports you to Korean BBQ nirvana. But the magic doesn't stop there. This is a flavor feast, and the supporting cast of banchan (side dishes) shines just as brightly. While the absence of kimchi might raise an eyebrow for some, the diverse spread of other delights ensures your palate remains tantalized. Sure, parking might be a bit of a challenge, but trust me, it's a hurdle worth overcoming. The friendly, no-frills atmosphere and incredibly affordable prices only add to the charm. This is Korean BBQ stripped down to its delicious core, a testament to the power of quality ingredients and culinary passion. In short: Hidden gem: Tucked away in Koreatown, offering an authentic experience. Intimate space: Cozy and casual, with an open kitchen showcasing culinary craftsmanship. Star of the show: Korean pork BBQ cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor. Supporting cast: Diverse and delicious banchan side dishes. Affordable delight: Great value for your money. Minor quibble: Lack of kimchi, but other options compensate. Is this a place you'd be eager to try?

The Pork Ribs and Gamjatang are legit here! I've been in LA for 4 years now, and have always been told to check out Ham Ji Park, but i never got around to it, until about a week ago. This place definitely didnt disappoint. It was a chilly Christmas eve night, and I was having some meat cravings, but was conflicted because I wanted soup too, so my friend suggested we swing by here. Got there and was seated immediately, still pretty packed, but the servers were quick with the menu. We decided on The Pork Ribs for the Meat Cravings and the Gamjatang for the Soup / Stew cravings whatever u wanna call it. Those ribs are Fire (insert fire emoji here) . Super juicy with lots of meat on the bone. My mom wasnt big on pork growing up, so i had my share of kalbi and bulgogi as a kid, but this was a new awakening lol . Spicy Pork BBQ Short Ribs are my new new now lol. The Gamjatang was full of flavor. I've had my fare share all around ktown and back home in Seattle, and they were all missing a little something. The meat was slipping off the bones without any real effort, and the broth had good punchy flavor. This is to me at least how a gamjatang should taste. The 2 things we got were big portions too, so big that we had half the ribs left and more than half of the gamjatang packed up to go. Definitely check this place out. You wont regret it!

Ham Ji Park is one of the most iconic restaurants in Ktown. Ask anyone from Ktown if they've had Ham Ji Park and 11 out of 10 times they'll say yes. When eating at Ham Ji Park, you always get at least one of two things: Pork spare ribs and pork neck stew. Both are so absolutely delicious that you'll want to order another serving to take home. This time, my family and I got the pork spare ribs and the fermented soy bean stew. This isn't the usual soy bean stew you'll find at KBBQ places. They use a different fermented soy bean that has much less salt. I like to mix it with my rice and eat it with the pork spare ribs. The restaurant can be pretty hectic because it so popular so naturally the servers can be a little slow at times. Be patient and calmly press the service button again if they don't come the first time. Overall, I would recommend bringing everyone here. Bring your friends, family, or just come by yourself. On many occasions, I've seen people eating pork spare ribs by themselves and I could totally understand.

Expect double charge for pork ribs without knowledge. I went in here with my family on Christmas day and ordered one Gamjatang ($26.99) and one Pork Ribs ($26.99). We ordered one more pork ribs but canceled the order since it took so long. When it was time to pay the bill we saw that we were charge double ($53.98) for Pork Ribs. So we went to the counter thinking that they included our cancelled order and they insisted the pork ribs we received were two orders when we ordered one. (Note whether you order one serving or two serving is it in one plate) So I asked they lady, why did two servings come out when we ordered one? and the waiter next to her insisted that he explained that it was two serving. What baffles me is the fact that the waiter is lying to cover his tracks... I think if a waiter talked to me and explained something during our meal I would have remembered but none of the waiters at the restaurant EVER talked to us more than two words "Yes, sure" during our meal.

What was more frustrating is the waiter's attitude toward the whole situation. He said he explained that it was two portion but we NEVER received any type of explanation when we were ordering NOR did he ever speak to us more that two words "Yes, Sure." Their serving skills are very below par as well. They just throw the rice wherever they please on the table, and leave food wherever is comfortable for them... leaving the customer having to readjust on our own. If you must eat here, I highly recommend To-go rather than Dining-in.

It was Christmas and we didn't want to ruin our Christmas day any further so we paid the bill and left but it was indeed poor communication from the restaurant and poor management at the counter. CONSUMERS BEWARE and always...

Went out for a holiday lunch with family here that quickly went sour. We walked into a Room with oily floors that had displaced chairs everywhere. Pressed the button on the table that doesn't work so had to scream at the server to get their attention because no one would serve us for a good while.

We ordered 1 order of the ribs and 1 gamja-tang (our literal words were "please give us 1 of each" - this is important for later) that came out after a minute. Servers drop off each entree on the corner of the table so it looks like I have to move it closer. We don't see another server until the end of the meal.

While we eat, an open cardboard box full of raw pork ribs comes sliding in. Is this place sanitary?

The food itself is fine - it's everything else that made this the worst food experience I've ever had. This place is LOUD. Everything is metal on metal so you hear every clang and bump of all the cutlery and bowls.

At the end of the meal, we see a price that didn't make sense to us, so I ask why. The cashier says the price is because we ordered 2 orders of the ribs (this is bull - see above) along with the soup and drinks. We later found that on the menu, it doesn't say anything about portions or amount in the price. Especially when we said WE WANT 1 OF EACH. While she explained, she called every server in the room to pretty much back her up. When your restaurant is run by thugs, you can do stuff like this I guess.

All in all, there's no hospitality, questionable cleanliness with a scam that awaits you at the end of your meal. Think twice before taking your loved ones here. I definitely regret it as I await my upcoming...
