Original Sin Donut - Hawaiian vanilla bean, salted maple / 5⭐! Hot Peach Donut - honey, almond crumble, bees pollen, peach / 5⭐! Jdilla Donut - chocolate, coconut butter / 5⭐! Reincarnated Donut - maple, smoked coconut, Hawaiian sea salt / 5⭐!

My first visit to Holey Grail Donuts was an absolute delight in so many ways.

To start, they use a special taro root starch base inspired by their Hawaiian origins. It was really amazing. It is a bit hard to describe since it is not like the two main types of donuts 99% of American donut shops use. It is a bit like a cake donut but much softer and melts in your mouth as you enjoy it.

Next, they use all natural ingredients and have a heavy focus on sustainable, ethical ingredients. Everything is handcrafted and assembled when you order, including frying up the dough with an adorable little frying machine that sits on the counter. This means that every single order is super fresh. Also, the entire menu is vegan, which is a plus.

The size of the donuts was perfect. They were smaller than pink box donuts but also not bite sized. I'd argue they are pretty mcu the perfect size. These four donuts were easily some of the best I have ever tasted.

The store was colorful and fun. I loved that they had a taro plant growing in the window with a small sign saying it was on its way to being a future donut. The donuts are the star but they also have a specialty coffee and beverage menu. The staff was very friendly and helped explain the concept to me and how it all started.

This store is on Larchmont Blvd which means parking can be tough. But if you don't mind a short walk, I always just park one block over.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw they use taro root as a base but I was blown away by how truly amazing these donuts are. If you are on the fence, I recommend taking a chance and...

I walked past a donut shop boldly calling itself Holey Grail — cute, right? I always chuckled at the name but never dared to investigate… until today. Armed with an empty stomach and low expectations (because, let’s be real, most “artisan” donuts are just overpriced circles with lavender dust), I stepped inside.

And BABY — I was not ready.

First shocker: these donuts are made fresh to order. Like, frying right in front of me, frosting still warm, and my taste buds pre-sobbing in anticipation. I legit had a Homer Simpson moment — eyes wide, soul leaving my body, drool fully activated.

Then came the presentation. These donuts didn’t arrive in a bag. Oh no. They came in a box that screamed “you’re about to experience something spiritual.” I bit into the coconut one… and my years of hating bougie donuts evaporated in an instant. Fresh, hot, crispy, chewy, flavor-packed perfection. I think I heard a choir.

Listen, I’ve been changed. Transcended. Donut-nized. Whatever this is — it’s not just a snack, it’s...

As a Catholic, the Hail Mary was spot on! I indulged in the most divine donuts infused with cardamom and rose, and oh, what a treat! The cardamom added a warm, aromatic spice, while the rose provided a subtle, floral sweetness. The combination was absolute perfection. The donuts were soft and fluffy, with a delicate glaze that complemented the flavors beautifully. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste and aroma, leaving me craving more. If you're a fan of unique and exotic flavors, these donuts are a must-try!

The POG? Love it! Topped with passion fruit, orange and guava frosting mixture, and it was a tropical paradise in every bite! The sweet and tart flavors of the passion fruit perfectly complemented the bold, fruity taste of the guava. The donuts themselves were light and airy, providing a delightful textural contrast. The combination was utterly addictive, with each bite transporting me to a tropical...
