This restaurant is truly a hidden gem in K-town — tucked inside a 🇰🇷 hotel, yet right in the middle of the busiest area with free parking (huge bonus in Koreatown!). The vibe is understated luxury: clean and minimal, but with a subtle touch of elegance. Their signature dish is cedar box–steamed meat, with three options: beef & vegetables, ginseng duck, or smoked duck. We were four people and ordered:
🦆 Cedar Box–Steamed Smoked Duck ✨ This was the dish I was most excited for, and it did not disappoint! The smoked duck, further steamed with cedar, was tender and juicy without any dryness. You could taste a faint cedar aroma — pair it with the sauce and sticky rice and it’s absolutely heavenly.
🐂 Cedar Box–Steamed Beef & Vegetables ✨ Such a fresh-looking dish. The beef with veggies made for a light and healthy pot. It comes unseasoned, so you dip it in their sweet soy sauce — super flavorful.
🐟 Braised Black Cod in Soy Sauce ✨ Highly recommended by the owner, who said this dish has quite a reputation across K-town. The cod was firm and flavorful — I’d never had cod prepared this way before, and it was eye-opening.
🍲 Traditional Beef Hot Pot ✨ So gorgeous! A mountain of beef stacked high, cooked for us tableside. The broth was rich and comforting.

After trying it, this spot immediately shot up to my list of K-town favorites. It’s not your typical “pretty-plate” restaurant — even the banchan here are next-level, with 12 side dishes beautifully plated together, giving full-on Dae Jang Geum royal court vibes. Every dish looked stunning, the sense of ceremony was spot on, and they also have private rooms — perfect for hosting or celebrating...
Read moreThis is an amazing restaurant for Korean food! Its situated on the first floor of a hotel and parking is free in the underground parking.
My party and I ordered 3 dishes: Soy Raw Marinated Crab (M), Kalbijjim, and a steamed duck dish. All of them were delicious! Of course there was also the complimentary baanchan which was provided on a large tray with many options.
Their kalbijjim is WAYYYYYYY better than Sunongdan! Highly recommend.
Soy crab was as good as Master Ha’s and you know how long that wait time can be.
Duck was great too! Very large portion size, enough for four people and I love duck so I thought it was super tasty.
They also provided a sample of their spicy raw marinated crab to taste on the house. I didn’t get a chance to taste it but I am sure it is also delicious. On top of that they gave us free mochi ice cream w/ red bean.
This place is a true 5/5! Don’t be alarmed with being unable to reserve a table, those are for private booths! We walked in on a Saturday at 6 and there were only 2 other parties!
Definitely come here if you're craving Korean food I am sure you won’t be...
Read moreService is great and parking is free. The lobby feels antique but roomy. The smoked duck, however, tastes not good. It’s sliced, and cooked in a traditional korean wood steamer box - it feels like it’s prepared well and carefully. Yet it tastes like cheap smoked sausages covered in rubber gum. I almost feel sorry for the ingredients and effort that went into the dish - it simply does not add up. I think one of the most important part that missed was that I wanted to taste the duck, not some smoky(not the good type) meat. Unfortunately, some of other dishes were even worse. So the overall experience was okay but really sorry to say this, the food could be...
