My wife and I are currently traveling across North America and when we find a place to eat that impresses us on multiple levels, we make a point to remember, return, and review. Everything on the menu at R Cafe has outclassed everything we’ve had in LA or anywhere else. The avocados are always fresh, the waffles are always fluffy with that desirable crispness at the edges, the eggs are always cooked to order with bright and rich yolks, and don’t get me started on the great mystery of their perfectly seasoned potatoes! On the recent hot days here we ordered iced chai lattes or iced Chaga matcha; both of which we highly recommend. The excellent ingredients found here are very obviously a staple of what makes this eatablishment stand out. The atmosphere is divine. A covered patio with no interference of street traffic or outdoor bugs. Very clean. It’s a place easy enough to talk, if you can stop enjoying the meal for long enough to do so. It’s a well-curated culinary masterpiece of a small cafe with room to grow. The owners, Ray and Evelyn, are the rare kind of people who’ve maintained the exemplary quality of offering incredible food and excellent service with their passion shining out their eyes. They have captured that elusive balance between the science of great taste and the age old culture of hosts and hospitality, leaving no customer unsatisfied. At R Cafe we’ve enjoyed more meals this past month than we’d care to admit, but each was enjoyed with the comfort comparable to dining at a dear friend’s home. The staff we’ve met are always a warm-hearted help whether it being Cairia helping us navigate our food intolerances and providing inspirational ideas for substitutions that aren’t always available elsewhere. The servers Myriam and Ferni (and one other gentleman as friendly as he is tall) always serve the guests with a smile and sincere desire to ensure the food arrives expeditiously with no patron left wanting for anything. Even when leaving the establishment the chefs offer friendly goodbyes despite working in the insanely hot weather of 100 degrees next to an even hotter stove and oven. You’ll always find them in high spirits, as if it wasn’t enough to be amazing culinary artists. And may we especially thank Erika who is largely responsible for how spotless the dining area will always be found. You can tell you’re in good company when you see Erika gracefully moving through taking care of everything and everyone. Her welcoming, bright smile matches the warm ambiance of this rare gem. You’ll find the excitement of those arriving eagerly to have an exceptional meal matches the contentment who are leaving having found a new favorite spot after a truly wonderful...
Read moreThis was my first time here. I did not have a good experience and it’s a shame because it looks like a quaint nice place to have breakfast. However for my first time, my first impression was awful I ordered a coffee a croissant and a breakfast burrito took a long time for me to get the coffee a longer time to get the croissant and I had to request the croissant three times although I was promised that I would have their croissant with my coffee after three times of requesting my croissant eventually I got it and waited and waited and waited and waited. I eventually got up and asked for my breakfast burrito they had forgotten about my breakfast burrito I had waited a very long time and I had to go so I left without my breakfast burrito and they refunded me my money. I think they need a strong manager that walks around and ensures that everybody’s orders have been filled I saw lotta talking in the kitchen a lot of young people having a good time but I think maybe they need someone that’s controlling what’s happening in the kitchen it’s too bad it seem like a nice place to...
Read moreAn awesome crepes and breakfast burrito place that's finally in an area I like! I seen this place for a while especially since my doctor office is right next door. I also use to go to the place that was here before R Coffee House took over. The parking situation is much better than other crepes places I been too. I put in my order through Yelp and my order was ready at the time I pick. I got the strawberry crepes, strawberry/banana crepes, breakfast burrito with bacon and almond milk tea (asked for no ice). Putting in a order through Yelp can be confusing because when selecting the milk tea, I don't know if putting almond is a substitute or additional. So maybe if you're not sure order at the store. Customer Service was great, they greeted me when I park, give me my drink (they forgot the no ice part but that's fine) while waiting and then walked out to hand me my order. The crepes were good, a little sweeter than I'm used to and the breakfast burrito...
