To start it off, the food and atmosphere was AMAZING! The service in return was HORRENDOUS!!! If this review was solely based on the restaurant, I would rate it 5 stars.
Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess did not greet us and just asked us how many. I greeted her and told her we were 4. She proceeded to walk us to a booth then THREW the coasters on the table and walked away. She returned with only 2 glasses of water and a flat coke, then left again. We tried flagging her down numerous times, but she was too busy walking over to the patio and talking to all of her friends (the other waitresses). It was a real struggle to get our meal, but it was delicious once it came.
The worst part came when I had to flag the waitress down to get my check. She finally made her way over, then took my card, rang it up at the farthest register and proceeded to take my card outside with her while she spoke with her friends again. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE for her to be gone for FIFTEEN MINUTES with my card. I asked the bartender to go at ask her for my check and from the window, I saw the waitress merely hand the bill to him for him to bring to me. She didn't even have the decency to walk it back to my table.
Overall, the food was delicious, but the service was absolutely the worst I have ever received. What started out as a great evening turned into a frustrated mess. My only hope is that you can go enjoy your meal without Jennifer or any of her friends as your hostess/waitress. Better yet, sit at the bar, because the bartender was the only decent person...
Read moreBusy as a mutha inside, very popular neighborhood joint/sports bar, TV screens everywhere, Lots of Happy Hour choices, huge beer, liquor and drinks menu
Parking: Tight narrow parking lot but decent amount of street parking.
I ordered:
Morrison’s chicken wings - 5 for $10 at Happy Hour, way better deal than 7 for $18 after. Score: C/Meh. Stale and lukewarm, clearly not cooked to order, might be amazing if fresh, insist on that!
Classic burger w/ no cheese $20 - dunno why I was asked about the cooking temperature: It’s an extremely THIN patty. Can’t be more than 4-5oz. Meat-flavor wise, good but nothing special. The burger brioche bun however is the most beautiful I ever saw and was delish. Also the fries may be the best I ever had in LA. Perfectly cooked, hot, golden and crispy. B for the burger, frankly a very poor value at $20. Please indicate the burger meat weight in the menu so people know what to expect. A+ for the fries
Bread pudding with a hot whiskey caramel sauce and a scoop of Jameson Irish Whiskey ice cream - Cooked to order in a cast iron mold. Definitely a share portion, took most of mine to go - definitely very good and they’re probably correct to call it the best bread pudding in LA. I give it an A
Service: I sat at the bar and had a great, friendly and efficient server. This is a busy place but the food came out quick. His score: A+
Score overall: B+
Price: $52 for 1 person with tax and tip - and NO drinks or beverages. My app and dessert could have been easily shared so expect more like $40/person not...
Read moreWow. I'm not sure where to begin. We literally came here because it was the closest food place to our concert and we had some time to kill. Then we saw that they were 7th in the u.s. on yelp so we were a bit excited. Walking in, the atmosphere was wonderful, they already decorated for Halloween and it looked pretty awesome. Comfortable environment. It was happy hour, so we decided to order 3 different apps (mac and cheese, sliders, and wings), and some drinks.
Side note they have 40 draft beers and they are all on happy hour for 6 bucks, doesn't matter how expensive the normal price is, i thought that was worth saying.
Anyway, we got our food and honestly, all our orders were absolutely amazing. I feel like it sounds like I'm exaggerating, but honestly it was really one of the best places I've ever been. The burgers didn't even need the condiments they gave us, we didn't use them. They tasted amazing on their own.
During our meal, the manager came out, introduced himself, and asked us if it was our first time. Now, we were ready for a concert, colored hair, band tees, Mohawks, tattoos, but the owner didn't judge, still treated us amazingly kind, and offered us free desert because it was or first time! I would never order bread pudding off a menu, I'm not really into sweets and bread pudding is whatever to me, but this was ugh, just lovely, the taste was so perfect.
I know my review sounds so up there, but honestly i had this wonderful experience, and i truly believe that this restaurant deserves all the credit they...
