The mark of a good restaurant is not just how good the food and service is but rather the consistency of which it is good, and after 35+ visits since this place has opened I can assure you that it the food is great, the service is wonderful (even when busy), the place is clean, the atmosphere is pleasant, and above all "these things are consistent"!
Things to know as of now: 1: Call ahead orders available 2: App orders with dine-in, takeout, and delivery options. 3: Usually packed around lunchtime. 4: Scan receipts in app for free food. 5: They don't do crispy Fries right when requested (still come out soft).
Tip: If you feel likes some fries but don't want the rather large portions that they come in order a kids meal, the size of the burger doesn't change and the fries portions is adequate to fill the average joe with a burger. Would recommend a double for the consumer that is a bit "healthier".
###Doordash Experience### Had a bad experience with doordash when I placed a delivery order within the Mooyah app. I called doordash and explained everything and gave them more than enough evidence to remove any reasonable doubt that the driver had gone through my bag and eaten a part of my order. Doordash refused to help. I called this Mooyah location and spoke with a manager(Chrissy) that has more than made this right. Chrissy's manner and speed at which she responded suggests that she truly cares about keeping customers happy, the way the only store in a small town used to 30 years ago.
Update: 3/29/2024 11:53 The worse experience in a restaurant in a while. They messed up the order and complained about fixing it, then said it would cost extra. Finally on the way out the door slipped on the mat by the door when i said "i don't think you know how slippery that mat is" the female employee i informed responded with an attitude "Oh, we know!". Also trash thrown out the backdoor instead of being taken to the garbage bin 30' away from the back door.
Update: 9/25/2024 1:22 Two of our the orders where rang up wrong. Fries requested crispy were not done to order and came out soft. Also there were scattered prices of onion in the lettuce. Finally and the staff ("Destiny N" according to the recipe) taking our order seemed devoid of character and drive, not the best choice for...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Metairie Mooyah location on August 24, 2025. This used to be one of our favorite burger spots, but after tonight, we will not be returning.
When we placed our order, instead of the usual metal trays, we were handed a bag. When I clarified we were dining in, an employee claimed they had no clean trays—all were dirty. Yet, I could clearly see only two tables had customers and both had their food on trays. Later, when my wife’s order came out wrong, I returned to the counter and I noticed there was a large stack of clean trays between the prep station and the cashier’s station. When I questioned the inconsistency, an employee who identified himself as the “manager,” named Jachovee (spelling uncertain), reacted unprofessionally. Yes I made a general comment, not directed to anyone in specific, but as me saying “they are lazies”…even though I didn’t personally directed the comment to him or anyone directly, obviously his behavior took it as personal. Instead of addressing the real issue respectfully, he became defensive, dismissive, and combative—calling me “bro,” raising his voice, and even stating he didn’t care and that they were short handed…Even if that was the case, you have to still act professional. He even said he didn’t care to lose his job if I contacted corporate because he had “three other jobs.” …At one point, it appeared the trays were deliberately removed from sight, raising both health and honesty concerns. If they were truly dirty, they should not have been stacked by the food prep area where customers walk up.
This employee’s behavior escalated to the point where I felt unsafe and considered calling the police in case the situation turned physical. Which I did just to make sure he didn’t follow me or my wife outside the restaurant. I have never been treated with such blatant disrespect in a restaurant or anywhere. What should have been a simple dine-in meal turned into an unpleasant confrontation.
As a longtime customer who has recommended Mooyah to many others, I am disheartened. Your food may be good, but unprofessional staff attitudes like this will drive loyal customers away. Tonight you didn’t just lose a sale—you lost a customer who has supported this...
Read moreI ordered two drinks ,2 orders of fries and two bacon cheeseburgers it took 25 minutes for my order to get to me just to find out there was only one burger ( the cashier looked to be high) this costed me 22 $ so I had to reorder the other burger witch was 10 $ way over priced on each burger was a half piece of bacon the frys were just dumped on top the hamburger not in a container just dumped, the guy cooking the meat could not cook two burgers at one time ( the grill was at least 4 ft long and 2 ft wide ) I was the only person in the place at this time . Then an employee came in and ordered for someone outside ( a family member or a friend) I watched her load the burger up with everything imaginable after paying for a cheese burger ( sad ) she even got her burger before me . This was my first time going and will be the last . Service was horrible and the food was nasty and over priced the only thing I can't complain about is the two cokes and that's because I fixed that . The only reason I didn't bring it back was the fact that I live 25 minutes away also wish I would have done this before I got rid of the food because I would have taken a picture and put it on here. I would not recommend this place , burger king and McDonald's are 100...
