Google lists hours of operation as 12 - 8 pm on Sunday. It's 6:45 pm. Closed. The sign has no hours of operation so I have no idea when I'll have the opportunity to taste the food. EDIT: I gave it another try, thanks to Mr.Chimetime. I ordered the salmon sando, a poke bowl, and wings. The chicken wasn't cooked enough and had no seasoning. Other than that, the food was very good. I'll definitely be back. 2nd EDIT: I went back yesterday Wednesday 3/20/2024 at 6:45 pm. Again, the "OPEN" sign was turned off and "Sorry we are CLOSED" was posted above the schedule of operation. There were 2 people working inside, a young lady behind the cash register and a young man lounging at the end of the counter. I tested the door to see if it was locked and it wasn't so I walked in and asked, "Are you indeed closed?" The two of them looked at each other and then at me with no response so I asked again, "Are you open?" The young lady nodded (nothing verbal) so I asked, "What time do you close?" She finally opened her mouth and said, "7:30". Now I'm confused so I go ahead and proceed to place my order. The 2 employees look to one another again as if they were confused. In MY confusion I asked, "What's the problem?" Hesitately, the young lady said, "Nothing". I again, proceeded to place my order then decided against it. I don't know what was going on, but I didn't stick around to find out and will not be returning. TERRIBLE customer service!!!!!!

Amazing! Stopped in here on Saturday afternoon (07/23/2022) to try the original sushi sando after seeing it featured on ChowdownDetroit. It did not disappoint! The spicy mayo fries were fantastic as well. Definitely coming back to try the okonomiyaki fries, the weekly special sandos, and the bowls! Jack also checked in with us while eating there and it was an absolute pleasure chatting with him about his food and other family-owned restaurants in the area. You can't find warm and friendly service like his anywhere else. I am recommending to Sushi Coup to all of my friends and peers. Looking forward to the next visit!

I saw this place on TikTok and knew that I had to make the drive to try this for myself. I got the salmon sushi sandwich and it was loaded with fresh fish and crab salad. The sauces were amazing and of course the fried rice "bun" took it to a whole other level with the layer of seaweed adding that unmistakable sushi flavor to tie it all together. The smoked bonito fries were also insanely crispy, flavorful, and unique. The sandwich and fries proved to be too much for just 1 person but it was so worth the drive to eat these one-of-a-kind menu items!

Update June 2023: Significant changes under the new ownership, and not in a good way. Portion sizes have decreased significantly while prices have remained the same. They use smaller bowls and don't fill them all the way, while the old owner Jack used to pack them until the lid buckled. They are now about 75% rice (cheap filler) and much less protein/toppings. Sandos are also quite a bit smaller, and the "bun" was very overcooked and hard. Spicy mayo fries used to be my absolute favorite, but they are no longer crispy (even when fresh), have much less sauce (most were bare) and nearly undetectable amounts of cheese. I used to devour a serving, but I threw out almost half of these. During both visits under the new owners, they have forgotten the extra sauce we purchased and mixed up orders between customers. I place my orders a couple hours in advance, and both instances it was about 10 minutes late. We were unsatisfied on our first visit but waited a few months to see if the new owners got a better handle on things. They did not. My coworkers and I are regulars but unfortunately will not be returning.

Original review 2021: Amazing food made to order at a reasonable price. Fresh ingredients and tasty sauces made in-house (even the spicy mayo is plant-based!). The owner is very friendly and welcoming, informative and open to feedback. Always in a great mood, it feels like visiting a friend. When I ordered the veggie bowl, he asked if I was vegan or vegetarian to be extra sure to accommodate anything I needed. He seems like he really wants to make his restaurant the best it can be. I will absolutely be...

I was in the mood for a good poke bowl on my way home from work, and Sushi Coup popped up on a quick Yelp search. Sushi Coup is an unassuming little place in a strip mall, but those kinds of places always end up being the best! I was torn between several of their bowls, but ended up going with the Spicy Poke Bowl. My online order was just about ready when I arrived; it was probably a total of about 20 minutes from when I placed the order to when it was ready.

I really love sushi, and while I definitely don't consider myself a sushi expert by any means, I honestly think this is one of the best poke bowls I've ever had. The ingredients were perfectly proportioned so you could get a little bit of everything in each bite. The fish is excellent quality and tastes super fresh.

Will definitely be coming back here, especially now that I've discovered the existence of their Sushi Sando from reading other reviews. Didn't realize that was a thing when I was ordering before, since I was just looking for a poke bowl at the time, but I cannot wait to...
