We had a great outdoor food adventure planned today for Skilled Living Nursing Week — hot-off-the-grill subs from the Grand Junction vendor truck for our amazing staff teams.
But then… it rained. It poured. And as it turns out, generators on vendor trucks aren’t fans of pouring rain.
So instead of sizzling subs, our staff was treated to a speedy pivot from Grand Junction — who went from “grilled” to “chilled” in record time. Think fast and furious… even faster than “freaky fast”! This was not an easy task to create almost 200 subs and deliver to hungry staff.
On Day two of planned event we had more rain forecasted. But no worries — we opted to deviate from the planned menu and served delicious cold subs made with love but no umbrellas needed.
Every staff person at Grand Junction was amazing to work with.

Read moreThis location has been so bad over the past 6 months-year. This used to be one of my wifes and my favorite fast foodish-healthier option for sandwiches but the Mandan location takes 15-30 minutes for your food. Save your self the hassle and drive to the north Bismarck location, this one unfortunately is only 5 minutes from us. I've had two instances of going in and ordering where the food took 30 minutes (tonight for 1 sandwich) that i went up and asked if it was almost done and the guy grabbed the bag out of their warmer and said sorry about that. I also had an express order this winter that I waited in line from my 20 minute estimate that I sat in line for 30 minutes. Won't be visiting the Mandan...
Read moreI'm an East Coast guy, and we know our subs and hoagies. Half of us are Italian and fat. I only got food here as a business lunch, and whew, it was bad. Quality was maybe one step up from Subway (probably the worst sandwiches on the planet). Almost nothing in the sandwich, and the bread tasted and felt like it was frozen / microwaved; either that or it was stale. It's cute they try to make "Philly cheesesteaks," I mean nice try, but haha no. Call it a steak sandwich if you must, but that's not a Philly. (Can't really blame them for that, hardly anyone can get those right outside the Tristate). Maybe by ND standards this is okay, but folks here don't get out much. I can't think of any reason I'd ever...
