Rotana Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Marietta

I very very rarely write reviews, so you know this one really got to me if I’m leaving a review right now. Me, my boyfriend, and our friend came in to have a nice meal and experience rotana for the first time since it’s so close by. This was my first time smoking hookah so I was very excited! We grabbed a table outside and had to flag down a server after a while of waiting. Our friend wanted mango flavor hookah (it was his birthday) so we agreed even though we weren’t fond of the flavor. The server (Amer) brought the hookah and left without taking our drink order or anything. I had some coke cans in my purse so I offered them around the table since our sever did not offer any drinks to us and we could not find him for a while after bringing the hookah. Amer (the server) came back and charged us for the coke cans I had taken out of my purse. While he was there, I asked him for a different flavor of hookah because it tasted like dirty water. Me, my boyfriend, and our friend were all very dissatisfied and disgusted with the “mango” flavor that was very much NOT mango. Amer refused to bring us a different flavor, stating we had been smoking it for too long, yet we hadn’t even ordered our food yet. We had to track him down to even order our food next. Once we received our food, he proceeded to bring us our check very abruptly and stand directly over us while we were uncomfortably trying to figure out how we were splitting our check. One he came back, he awkwardly stood over us again while we decided on what to tip. We all felt the service was very bad and we had to flag down our server to even take our order and then were charged extra for drinks when we could have ordered them with the server if he had actually taken our drink order. Very awkward and uncomfortable experience. We will not be returning. I had very high expectations for this place, especially being my first hookah experience… super disappointed and felt very undervalued...

So I have been to this place a couple of times and I didn’t have an issue. The 3rd time I went with my friend and the waitresses accused us of being rude and having an attitude with no incident. My friend and I entered the establishment and sat down in the back. We tipped the belly dancer and ordered 2 waters and a hookah. When 2 more of our friends arrived we asked for 2 more waters. We later asked for uno cards and they stated they didn’t have any. They had playing cards but someone else were using them. They then suggested checkers and we agreed. While we were playing checkers the “manager” came to us and slapped the check on the table stating that we needed to leave because the waitress said we were being rude. He did not investigate to see if there was a issue or misunderstanding. He did not attempt to de-escalate the situation. We were in such shock because there was not any intentional rudeness on our side, we thought he was joking and we asked for the waitress so they could tell us where this came from. The waitress stated we didn’t say please and thank you for the water then another one said we were rude about the cards. The entire time there was never any type of negative energy between us and the waitress. They even complimented one of us on our purse. In the future, it’s best to investigate and de-escalate rather than accusing and amplifying the issue. I...

Where is the Female owner???? If she is not around RUN! The so called male owner is a thief to his customers. I ordered a hookah and it tasted like burned coals, literally. I complained to the male OWNER, and he said that the hookah was fine and if I wanted the problem fixed I would be charged $7!!!!!!!!!!!

Was not my fault the owner prepared a bad hookah for me. I was appauled. My spouse was VERY upset. It ruined the vibe for our date night, schmuck thinks its ok to charge people just because.....???

One more thing. A couple sitting next to use complained about their hookah not tasting right. They treated them the same as they did us. I noticed they stopped using the hookah, they obviously were dissatisfied with the taste too. Ours literally tasted as though we were inhaling smoke from a fire.

A couple to the left of us. The lady asked for TWO GLASSES of water. The OWNER brought them two glasses of ICE, he then told them they dont give out water in glasses. They would have to purchase two bottles of water.

Thank you Rotana for wasting my time and money. You will most likey fail. Look around. You aren’t the one and only Hookah Lounge.
