They have a wall outside right before the drive up window with the entire menu on it. Right next to the menu there is a sign that says order at the window. So I stood there for probably 10 minutes, very indecisive day, trying to figure out what I was going to order. I finally decided that I was going to get a large sweet tea, a panini, and a pumpkin pie cupcake, which I was very excited to try. I get up to the window and the lady was very polite. The first thing I ordered was the large sweet tea, because I was very thirsty. The lady said that they didn't have that today. Not happy about that, because normally a restaurant would post a sign somewhere stating that, no sign anywhere. So I asked her if they had Pepsi or Coke products. She looked at me very funny and said we don't have that either. Yet again no sign! So I then asked her well what do you have? Thinking maybe I will get an iced coffee or an ice water instead. She turned around and pointed to a small chalkboard that was inside the drive up window behind the cashier. The only thing on the chalkboard was cupcakes! I said that's all you have? She said yes, sorry. I asked her if they had water or coffee or anything to wash them down with, her response was no sorry, this is all we have today! So, needless to say, I was not happy at all, didn't order anything. I don't understand how they have an entire menu outside right before the drive up but are offering nothing from the menu, they have no signs posted, and offer no explanation! I will never...
Read moreThis was my 2nd trip to indulge in the confectionery bliss of Granny Puckett’s
Option paralysis didn’t kick in, so the order was more than a pancreas should ever endure!!
Lemon Cupcake: Mildly lemon cake (lacking the tart of lemon) with a sweet Swiss buttercream. Cake is moist and done nicely but a missed opportunity to lean into the lemon pucker power.
Chocolate Chip Mega Cookies: the big box chain that prides themselves on these oversized cookies has nothing to compare when biting into this chewy chunk of cookie goodness. A perfect balance of chocolate chip crunchy edge and chewy center. Sharing is recommended - our 10 year old has never met a treat too sweet to finish until this cookie. He informed me “I’m saving this for later… it’s because I need to take a break between sessions!”
Carrot Cupcake: A nice surprise - crasions! Topped with a cream cheese buttercream and filled with all the moisture of a layered carrot cake, it’s the perfect miniature version.
Vanilla Cupcake: debating between Vanilla or Funfetti? Pick this!! Funfetti is normally my #1 but Granny has managed to make a vanilla cake that gives Funfetti a run for its $$
Cookie Dough Cupcake: it’s less like a cupcake and more like a chewy brownie turned cookie. It’s definitely something I can’t leave without and have never...
Read moreMy family and I were visiting from Nashville, TN and I've been following your Facebook page for what seems like forever since we have moved away from SI. We purchased each flavor of cupcake, a macaron, chocolate chip cookies and banana bread loaf. First of all, oh my goodness everything we have tried has been phenomenal. This has put even bakeries in Nashville wayy down the list for me. My favorite thing I tried was the lavender macaron, it has so heavenly that I can still remember the flavor of it. Nothing like it. The chocolate chip cookies were baked so perfectly and I don't think I've had a cookie that good ever in my life. The cupcakes were just perfect. Great frosting to cake ratio and flavors on point and not overly done. You actually want to eat the whole thing instead of scrape the frosting off. The frosting is very smooth and light and creamy. Just perfect. I will now be dreaming of this bakery and everytime I visit SI I will have to come here. It's a must do. I wish you all had some way to ship these goods because I would be a regular customer! 5 out of 5 stars for me! Best bakery in Southern Illinois and beyond. Go and buy one of everything! You...
