Bulbap Grill — Restaurant in Marlboro Township

I have travelled to Korea many times and lived there for an extended period, so I'm very familiar with Korean food, and I found everything at Bulbap to be both authentic and delicious. This was my 1st visit to this restaurant, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I really liked it. It's the kind of place I'd expect an office worker in Seoul to go for a quick lunch. Prices were reasonable, servings were quite large (filling), food was fresh and cooked perfectly. The Dol-sot Bi-bim-bap (rice, veggies, meat) served in a sizzling hot stone bowl was OUTSTANDING. It rivals anything I've eaten anywhere in South Korea. Our server was also very pleasant and helpful.

The only criticism I had was that the kimchi was a little sour for my taste (I like my wife's better), but it was fresh and I would have liked a slightly larger portion of it. Also, the Go-ju-jang was the thin more liquid style and I prefer the thicker pasty style.

The atmosphere is totally casual, a bit like a Korean version of Chipotle, so if you go you should know what to expect. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that very casual environment. I fell in love with Bulbap the first visit. After searching for what seemed like forever, I have found the perfect blend of my two favorite cuisines Korean and Southwestern. They have rice bowls and noodles and tacos and wings and dumplings and stone pots, All with the most amazing, delicious flavors!! My favorite happens to be a burger... not any old burger, a Galbi Supreme Burger - 2 fat, thick, handmade patties, 2 thick, fat bacon strips, shredded lettuce and cheese all topped off with a Perfectly prepared fried egg 💖🙂👍 Pickled red cabbage shreds and fresh carrot shreds (on the side) elevate the marinated short rib beef patties to the Very TOP of the flavor chain. I never miss an opportunity to add fresh Avocado and Bulbap came thru!! Put that Avocado right on top that burger and I don't stop smiling🙂 Foodies? You GOTTA try this burger 'cause I am NOT a burger fan by any means, and this place has been our #1GO-TO for like 3 years now. They also come thru with the Very Best in cusntomer service. Be it sit-down or Delivery (with a big "D") it's like eating with Best Friends! Seriously, how did this place get a 4.6 star rating? Everything from the trash attitude from the cashier to the low quality of the food, I would most definitely give this place negative stars if I could. The restaurant smelt of old grease, which ruined my appetite already. I usually do not leave reviews on restaurants that I think are bad, but this one crossed the line by a landslide. Also, there were bugs EVERYWHERE! You cannot even eat in peace even if you wanted to. The food was overpriced, lukewarm and dry which is a big No-No for Asian food, like it’s been sitting around; and I ordered their signature Galbi bowl.
