Depending on who's in there working effects how well the service is. I've been there before in the past and they've had me in and out, with hot food and and great service. Though I went back after some while and ended up staying 30 minutes waiting for my food. Just a simple burger and some fries, nothing too difficult. It was quite an experience, so I'm just going to outline everything that happened.
Its noisy when i first walked in, but thats to be expected, with music playing, people talking and the kitchen equipment. Told the guy I had a pick up order, and it was hard to hear him, but he asked if I had a regular or diet soda. But I had only heard the diet soda, so I said yes. He said the rest is coming up, put both drinks on the counter and walked away before I could tell him that I only needed the diet.
So I took my diet drink, and went over to a table and I waited. Watched as people came in and out, ordered their food and left. I thought it was just taking a while cause there might've been people who ordered online before me, and they were quite busy as it was around dinner time, so i waited patiently.
About 15 minutes in, another employee noticed the regular soda on the counter and asked who left it out. The one guy I spoke earlier started saying I said yes when he said both regular and diet and that he swore that I said yes and so forth. Instead of thinking that maybe I might've just heard diet soda because it was difficult to hear with the volume level in the restaurant? It felt kinda weird standing there while they were talking about me so loudly, but it's whatever.
Then there was a moment I was the only person in there, standing and waiting. The employees noticed I was there, but didn't say anything, just continued to chat whenever there was nothing to do. So I went up to the counter and asked how my order was going, and come to find out they haven't even started it.
One employee had handled it quickly, asking the other employee (who I told that I was here for a pickup order) why didn't he say anything about my order. He simply said "I called out their order when they got here." even though he had seen me waiting for 30 minutes (yes it really was 30 minutes, I promise you). The other employee handed me my food, apologized and offered me a free milkshake (which I denied, as the order was for someone else.) I appreciate the way this employee handled the situation, though one moment like this is enough to ruin Five guys for me.
This is probably one in a dozen, and I'm sure other customers have a fantastic experience here. I saw someone else say there was The Habit that opened up nearby, so may...
Read moreWas not treated respectfully here at all. I was greeted by the manager Art who proceeded to whisper and giggle with his employees all the time while glaring at my kids and I. Once I ordered a cheeseburger (1 pattie), regular fries, and a drink my bill totaled $12! I was treated disrespectfully by both Art and his "staff" and they were all very unprofessional. To be totally honest I watched them like a hawk to make sure they weren't sabotaging my kids food because it seemed as if they disliked the fact that I was there for some reason. This was my first time trying Five Guys and to be totally honest I don't think I will be eating here again unless they train their employees in customer service and to top it off the food was nothing to write home about either! I called and made a complaint with their 24 hour customer service and made sure to make complaints about the service and the way I was treated here. To top it off Art couldn't even spell the name of one of his "employees" when I asked him to write it down LOL! Don't waste your money here go somewhere where you'll be treated respectfully as a customer that is spending your hard earned cash!
According to the reviews here everyone else had somewhat of a good experience, I am not sure why I did not but then again I demand respect if I am spending my hard earned money!
7/14/16---Haven't been back to this establishment and I doubt I will ever go back however, I did speak with the district manager who assured me that this would be taken care of and the employees would receive proper customer service training, hopefully this has happened! I will most likely call to...
Read moreGreat burgers, great fries, never had their shake but they seem popular. Your burgers won't hit the grill until you actually order it, so be prepared to wait a little bit. Enjoy some peanuts while you do or avoid this place altogether if you are severely allergic.
The standard burger is a two patty affair with a broad array of toppers. This is one place where I scrupulously avoid adding cheese to my burgers. The quality of the beef is noticibly better than you can find elsewhere, but the cheese is just run of the mill and competes rather than compliments the end product. This is not meant to denigrate the cheese but to spotlight the quality of the burger itself. All the toppings are consistently fresh.
The fries are hand cut from fresh not frozen russet potatoes and are cooked twice, as they should be.
Price wize, this is not a budget burger joint. You will pay a fair price for a fine burger, but you only pay for high quality food. There is no wait staff. You order at the counter draw your own drink from from self serve machines and retrieve your meal when your number is called. There are no gimmicks and the boomer rock music is played at a volume that discourages lingering.
It's all about the burger, but in this case,...
