Let me start this off by stating, I'm from New York; lived there for over 14 years. When moving to Maryland a year ago, I travelled around the areas near me and actually never saw Sbarros suggested when I searched up "New York Style Pizza". But their slogan is Home of the Original New York XL Pizza?
Overall, the taste is extremely mediocre and it's by far not even close to the best or even a good tasting pizza that tries to replicate New York Pizza. Let me state why.
The Price, for an XL it's like 6 Dollars Extra from what I had paid for a Large Pepperoni being 19.64 which in INSANE for a Large Pizza in a State that cost WAY less to function than New York City. The Flavor, it's mediocre. The only thing they have right is the Tomato Sauce I THINK, but the thing is New York Style pizza works by having the Sauce be spread so well that it's not what overpowers all of the taste of the cheese and toppings. This sauce is extremely overpowering because it's mainly what I could taste. The Flop, there is no flop. What are y'all doing? New York Style Pizza has that wonderful flop when you hold it how you should by folding it and the front flops down meaning that Pizza is gonna be GOOD but in the TWO Pizza Boxes none of the Slices did that. Lastly, just literally go anywhere else. It has a 4.1 but I'll be serious. This isn't a good pizza, if you want something better you're literally better off getting Papa Johns or even Domino's and I hate Domino's. It's too expensive for something that doesn't taste like an actual New York Pizza. I'd personally travel three hours, go to a 99 cent Pizza Corner and get it there than spend an extra Dollar from Sbarro's unless they WANT to Prove me wrong that they still got it. Two BAD Pizza Boxes with mid taste...
Read moreDon’t buy their pizza unless you see it come out the oven. Sbarro chains around the country are known to see you old pizza from 1 to 5 days old. If the cheese doesn’t look bright white and melted, don’t buy it. If it looks solid and grey don’t eat it. I laugh at people paying too prices for old pizza. $5 for a 1 topping slice should entitle you to fresh pizza. The baked ziti and spaghetti can be just as old or older. They will just add more cheese on top to cover up the old look. I worked at Sbarro 23 years ago in college and they never served pizza from previous days but did mix in old ziti and spaghetti with a little new batch. Avoid at all cost just like you never buy Asian food early in the day since it’s mostly from the previous day. YOU HAVE...
Read moreVery disappointed! After shopping for three hours in the Mall we were ready for ziti and breadsticks. It was 7:55pm when we walked up ! They had already put everything away except for pizza and Stromboli, Refused us Ziti! We settled for pizza and spinach Stromboli, They were rushing to clean instead of taking care of customers!!! Sat in dinning area and a woman started slinging bleach around with a mop almost under our feet while we were trying to eat ! Talk about rude and disrespectful!! Said they were open until 9! Owner of this franchise is losing out and employees could care less! At least 10 more people walked up after us, Some settling for pizza! Some walked away because food was put away !! We will never...
