Terrible food. Burger was below average on taste. I ordered a grilled cheese with American, provolone, and cheddar cheeses. It came out with provolone only. I informed the server. He took it and brought it right back out with COLD slices of cheese just added to the sandwich. I told him to just take it off of the bill. The manager, a tall man, came over and said "what's was wrong with the grilled cheese?" which I explained. He literally didn't say another word and tuned around and walked off. Their "house-made" potato chips with seasoning had ZERO taste...actually disgusting. If I could give a NEGATIVE number for the food, I would! We will NEVER, EVER waste our time and $ at this dump.
UPDATE TO OWNERS RESPONSE:
First, there was only one other table in the entire restaurant taken during our time there. We moved ONCE (BEFORE even waited on) not three times as you stated. So what if we moved from one table to another BEFORE being waited on. Just to note, your hostess started and to seat us but realized she knew those at the one other table and literally stopped at their table hugging them and talking at which point we didn't exist. This is LIE number one.
LIE number two: I requested provolone, American and swiss cheeses on my sandwich. That equals THREE slices of cheese, NOT eight as you stated (although you contradicted yourself by also stating four slices of cheese). It wasn't even close to being 1/4" think. Where do you get off saying it was an inch thick of cheese?? lol!! Anywhere else I dine, they are 100% capable of melting all of the cheese. The sandwich was, in fact, brought out about one minute later (after having been sent back) with a piece of COLD American cheese just placed on the already grilled sandwich. I'm surprised at the fact you couldn't figure out that adding a cold piece of cheese (to the already grilled cheese sandwich) and sending it right back out, that it wouldn't have melted.
LIE number three: I most certainly did not "shove" my sandwich to the server. I simply handed the basket to him as it clearly wasn't his fault.
LIE number four: My point about the manager stands exactly as I previously stated. HE was the rude one, not me. I didn't even ask to see a manager.
LIE number five: I did NOT eat the chips. An other member of my party ate them (who doesn't use seasoning on any of his food, therefore, he doesn't mind bland food).
When we were getting ready to leave, the server brought us a to-go container of the chips (which we did not ask for). Those were left on the table. If I was supposedly so rude to him earlier, why would he, on his own, bring more chips for us to take with us??
Yes, I did order off of the kids menu. However; I didn't force the server to accept my order. So, your point is moot.
Your restaurant is supposed to be dog friendly and themed. You offer NOTHING for our furry family dogs.
All I can say about being in business for 13 years is that folks of Mason must be hard up to put up with such low quality...
Read moreMy husband & I come here at least once every 3-4 months. We love LDG, the food, wings, & Turkey club! We normally have amazing service. I was a server myself once so I understand the stress. However, we went recently during lunch time on Jan 6th. Only 2 or 3 other people (at the bar) in the whole restaurant and one server. She was the rudest server we have ever had at LDG or any restaurant. First when I told her what cheese I wanted on my sandwich she told me it wouldn’t stick on the sandwich because it’s shredded, but I order it that way everytime I go, when I told her this she said “oh ok”. We asked for extra extra chili on our fries, normally it’s loaded with chili. Hardly any chili on the fries, when I asked for another cup, she rudely replied “ there’s already two cups on it” which we said okay we still want more. We are fully aware we’ll have to pay extra for it. Then we found a hair in the chili fries, when we told her this she said “Oh that’s funny because none of the cooks have hair. Then she said “not that you guys are lying but it must have been in the package beforehand.” She then took it back and I could hear them in the kitchen complaining about us. She did take the chili fries off the bill, so that was appreciated. She didn’t ask till we were done eating if we wanted refills or needed anything, she was too busy worrying about the two men at the bar.
LDG is one our favorite places for the service and food, and this was for my husband birthday so a special occasion and we were just so turned off by the fact that she had a comment to make for everything we asked for and her bad/smart mouth attitude. We were treated badly as customers & are very much debating if we’ll ever go back.
I never leave bad reviews because I understand how stressful being a server is, and like I said we love LDG food and service but this really turned us away. I didn’t ask for a manager and maybe I should have but I think I was in such shock at how rude she was. So my suggestion don’t go during lunchtime unless you’re a man and you plan on...
Read moreIn the area to pick up a wheelchair, met my brother and he suggested we go here. They weren’t busy which means you hope the food will be good. The waitress was a bit agitated at first. Fair enough because my mom asked for coffee in a sports bar. Our server was the boss it turns out. I agree with not wanting to make coffee at a little over an hour before closing time. But for a first time customer I felt we were a bother by the request. My mom was hoping this would perk up her 91 year old self. The pot came back around and my mother accepted a refill. I struggled a bit with the sense of humor about not wanting to waste a pot of coffee on one person. I know what this sounds like, I’m not in disagreement over the budgetary frustration of a less than an hour before closing coffee request. That being said, read your guests, is the best way to start the service of them making a new customer have to feel uncomfortable. Later during our visit the server became better engaged with us as late arrivals. It turned out she had been contemplating closing early because business had been slow. I respect the budgetary pressures but didn’t feel coffee should be the place to make the first stand. It was not unpleasant, just set off the visit with a little inhibition. The food was delicious, I ordered the BLT and was not disappointed in any way. We had the stuffed jalapeño peppers wrapped in bacon. I’m not a fan but gave them a taste. The four of us were satisfied by our meals, very good bar food from our experience. Have a bad day I respect that. Being frustrated because your day has not been as busy as it needs in the terms of finances for keeping the doors open, save that for your regulars. I’d go back if I lived closer because I believe in second chances and I’ve not had that good of a BLT in a...
